Userpage

I made a few changes to your userpage, mainly alignment changes, I hope you don't mind. You can keep them if you like. See my changes. Prodego talk 19:55, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

No problem, the only way to really get to know Wikicode comes with practice, although instructions do exist. If you need any help with your design, I would be happy to help, this site is great for picking out colors, if you stick with red I would go slightly darker then you have now. Sorry, only 3 more sleeps before school ends. Until then, I'm destined to spend the days cramming for my math and science exams. Really sorry I couldn't get the pic done, but I'm only on Wikipedia about 10 minutes each day. Sorry, Master of Puppets Giant Enemy Crab! 05:23, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

Lucky. I have a big backlog of userpages to do when school ends, but I'll get your image to you soon. And oh, how abstract it will be. :) Cheers, Master of Puppets Giant Enemy Crab! 05:30, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

new york grand central station image of the day

shouldnt it say the "...station's most recognizable..."?? it would seem to make more sense, since it sounds funny without it. Qrc2006 02:05, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

p.s. why did you message me with the link to that image??? Qrc2006 02:06, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

Welcome to Esperanza!

Welcome, Thetruthbelow, to Esperanza, the Wikipedia member association! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.

Now that you are a member, you might be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is the StressUnit, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.

In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Possibles.

I encourage you to take an active voice in the running of Esperanza. We have a small government system, headed by our Administrator general, Celestianpower, and guided by the Advisory Committee, Titoxd, JoanneB, and Freakofnurture.

If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact me by my talk page, Celestianpower by email or talk page, or the Esperanza talk page. Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users on our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). If you're new to IRC, please see the IRC Tutorial, which was written by one of our members. I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to be!

Thanks! G.He 02:28, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

Second brain

W00t, I can now use telekinesis. Thanks for the brain though; I think I aced the history and english exams, now to tackle math and science. I suck with math but science I can do. Thanks for the kind notion, anyway. Cheers! :) Master of Puppets Giant Enemy Crab! 07:16, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

Thank you

Doright

All we should do is objectively state what he is doing and revert or modify articles when he makes poor additions and changes. Then invite neutral editors, esp admins, to come and look. One of these days, one of them will warn and block him. --CTSWyneken 10:51, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

Hey..

Why do I feel like someone is copying me. ;-) [1]The King of Kings 05:02, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

You don't have to change it, I'm quite flattered actually :p But hiding it you didn't do so well, come on, how many people choose Indian red as thier first color? :-) — The King of Kings 06:07, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
Eek! It was supposed to say massages! One reason I changed to massages was because users on my past RFA opposed me for having a "new messages" thing on my talk page (silly, right?). So I changed it to massages so no one could fall for it, except the ones who click really fast. ;-) — The King of Kings 06:17, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

It's alright, really. No reason to be sorry. ;-) Oh and you should read up some more reasons I was opposed on my RFA's:

  • Having a "new messages" thing on my talk (user) page
  • Being involved with the WikiProject:Wikipedians for Decency
  • One edit I made 7 (5 then) months ago
  • For calling a sockpuppet a sockpuppet (and this occured 5-7 times and all the users I called sockpuppets were indefblocked after my RFA)
  • Because I take frequent wikibreaks for unknown for sometimes obvious reasons
  • For thinking that I thought my wikiholic score was to important to me
  • Lack of template edits
  • Quote: "could be a good admin, but can we take the chance?"
  • For not reading any books by Deepak Chopra

Does anybody else see anything wrong with these votes? — The King of Kings 06:35, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

Although it is very tempting to say yes, I am refraning from accepting a nomination until 2007. Hopefully you'll be able to nominate me then. — The King of Kings 06:43, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
Hey, why don't we nominate eachother for adminship in November? Its plently enough time for both of us to wait. What do you think? — The King of Kings 06:56, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
You could you use the e-mail address on my user page. Maybe I should have mentioned that :p — The King of Kings 07:05, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
I'm going on wikibreak until Friday, so I might not read it until then, sorry. :-( I'll chat with you Friday though. ;-) — The King of Kings 07:23, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

Martin Luther

I am the one who largely worked on this section. Were you the one who put in the material on Luther here. There is needed emendation as the material does not deal with the content of the document in question. It only seeks to emphasize the negative here.--Drboisclair 21:10, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for working with CTS on this. Him and I are always on the same page. Some months ago someone added this material to emphasize Luther's hostility toward Erasmus. I was the one who supplied the quotation from the Packer/Johnston edition of On the Bondage of the Will. I didn't like having it in there, but I made sure that it was properly sourced. I will honor your concern because you have been doing a lot of good work here.--Drboisclair 21:19, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
I'd take Drboisclair's word for it, if he thinks the quote is unnessary. He has a graduate degree in the study of Luther. I can go either way on it. BTW, may I recommend a book to read? Roland Bainton's Here I Stand is a nice, well written short bio of Luther by a non-Lutheran historian. It would give you some more background.
By the way, I've given Doright three formal warnings on his personal attacks against me. If you both want to try one last attempt to reason with him, now is the time. Visit his talk page. --CTSWyneken 21:25, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
My next step is to request admin intervention, if he insults anyone again. What you could do is gather diffs where you have seen him attack others. If an admin wants them, we can then provide them. --CTSWyneken 23:09, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

I should greatly thank you

Thetruthbelow, I should thank you a million for your recent category revision in Luther. That was a battle that I had been fighting for months. I am glad you are around! Keep up the good work fellow editor!--Drboisclair 21:24, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

Your work deserves this:

For your hard work in making Wikipedia the best online encyclopedic resource I gratefully award you this barnstar, cordially--Drboisclair 21:47, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

Could you check your e-mail? I have sent two e-mails to you via the Wiki-email. They are important. Shalom l' cha--Drboisclair 21:55, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

Rfa thanks

Dear Thetruthbelow, thanks so much for your support during my recent successful request for adminship. I really appreciate it. I tagged the page because a google search revealed that Yahoo finance had the same information, word for word. If you did the research yourself, Yahoo finance must use public domain information such as Wikipedia articles, which I didn't consider. Apologies. --Tothebarricades 01:28, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

Problems with Citation

You posted on the site for Baltimore Polytechnic Institute that there isn't proper citation, which I agree with. Wikiproject

Sure, I'll join. Can I also recommend 2 other userpage designers, User:Sceptre and User:Sango123? I think this would be a great project. Good idea. --GeorgeMoney T·C 21:28, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

OK. May I also suggest User:Phaedriel, she is a great userpage designer and would be a great addition. :-) — The King of Kings 21:36, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
Great, now we got Sango and I fixed the name. :-) — The King of Kings 21:41, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
We don't have Sango yet, she didn't respond.--GeorgeMoney T·C 21:44, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
Um, you don't know me, and you don't want me to join your committee (honestly, I have no experience, and all I'd do is hang around saying 'this looks fabulous, darling!', which I'm sure you'd get very, very tired of) but may I suggest you ask Master of Puppets? He's into doing that sort of thing (or so I heard). Here is a quote from his userpage:

Recently, I have also taken to helping users upgrade their pages, mostly helping with colors and orginization; some samples of users I have helped include Kalathalan's page, Tawker's page, Fang Aili's page, Mirlen's page, and Bananagirl's page.

If I'm being a hinderence, please just remove me. Sergeant Snopake 22:21, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
I'm not sure I could be much help. I'm always having crazy ideas, but I don't know how to put them into action. If you ever need a 'crazy ideas girl', look me up, because I'd love to join (if there's anything I can do)! Sergeant Snopake 22:37, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
Oh, yeah, there you are talking to MoP at 21:07. I'm so out of the loop... Sergeant Snopake 22:39, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
Sure, why not? I warn you, I'm going on a wikibreak tommorow, but I'll be back on monday. ;) Sergeant Snopake 22:46, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

Sure, I'd be delighted to. However, I have to finish Skating Wikiproject first, and Can'tSleepClownWillEatMe's page; what did you have in mind for this one? I.e. colours, layout, etc. Master of Puppets Giant Enemy Crab! 03:45, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

Oops, nevermind, you don't want me to design it. Sure I'll join; however, maybe we should make it look spiffy to attract more customers. Master of Puppets Giant Enemy Crab! 03:50, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
Oooh. spiffy sounds good! Sergeant Snopake 17:47, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

Templates

I think we should have some templates. I think one of the templates would be having talk pages have a background. Also, in many of our designs, I think we should use -moz-border-radius, to make it curved in firefox, but normal in IE. Look at a design that I helped with (this will be the version of my last edit): [2]. I put the curved borders, and it looks nicer. --GeorgeMoney T·C 22:55, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

Deletion

Take it to WP:DRV --GeorgeMoney T·C 23:31, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

I'll take care of it. I already posted a message at his page. No need to take it to DRV if we can resolve it now. Save DRV for later. — The King of Kings 23:33, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
Nevermind, I'll take it to DRV because of Tony's edit summaries. — The King of Kings 23:37, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

I guess I could do the picture formatting part. Want me to include everything I know? — The King of Kings 01:47, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

RE:Abstract

I'm creatively gridlocked; I have no ideas at all. I made a few pipes flying around, that looked bad though; made a black background with a large chrome circle, still looked bad. I'm going to go around looking for ideas; until then, I'm afraid you're image-deprived. Sorry. I'll get back to you soon though, as soon as I can. Master of Puppets Giant Enemy Crab! 23:35, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

If you're looking for abstract, I think I made some abstract things here --GeorgeMoney T·C 23:39, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

Wikiproject deletion

I've left a comment and a "vote" on the VfU page. "Let a hundred flowers bloom, let one hundred schools of thought contend," said the Chairman (though, truth be told, he summarily erased 99 of those schools). My take - I appreciate a well-crafted userpage, and believe that userpages are a fundamental part of the Wikipedia experience. Just because you care to make yours look good doesn't mean you're humping the dog when you should be (sez who?) "contributing". Denni 03:32, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

  • My page is a work in progress (aren't they all?) but I'm always open to ideas on how to make it better. I have some real issues with how to mix text and pictures without the page formatting going all to hell. If you have any good suggestions, I'd be glad to hear them. Thanks for your comments. Denni 04:05, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
It looks great. Could I make a suggestion though? Could we change the color of the box in the Wikipedia:WikiProject User Page Design Committee/Design Requests. That red box is a little shocking on the eyes at first, maybe a nice pastel color? — The King of Kings 07:02, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
I think you used the colors on your user page, did you not? :D — The King of Kings 07:07, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
At least now it's being given a chance. Cheers! — The King of Kings 07:34, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
HAHA, only 3 a.m. :) Its 4 a.m. where I am. :D *Moe falls asleep at computer* — The King of Kings 08:03, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
This certainly wouldn't be my latest. I have stayed up until 11 a.m. editing. (I had to get off Wikipedia to go to the bathroom and to go eat) — The King of Kings 08:07, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
Oh, good night again *Moe looks for something to do* Ahh, lets count my edits. 1,2,3,4... — The King of Kings 08:13, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

Userbox

If the committee survives MfD, we could have a userbox along the lines of:

This user is a member of WikiProject User Page Design Committee.

Just a thought! ;) Sergeant Snopake 15:37, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

Jesus Christ, no! Ask someone a LOT more experienced. In fact, I figured I'd mostly just be here to learn until I really get the hang of things. I mean, Oreos was looking for those little show/hide things, and I wouldn't even want to begin screwing round with that sort of thing... Sergeant Snopake 17:43, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

My User Page, O Great One

Dear Truth: You're better at this than I. Could you rearrange my user page so that everything falls in nice, neat columns? --CTSWyneken 17:38, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

Thanks! It's much better!

I'll be sure to look at it later. Only one problem remains; The "indulgence" covers over an info box. I appreciate the work. --CTSWyneken 18:57, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

Maybe its a Firefox issue. I'll check later. Gotta run for a few hours at least. --CTSWyneken 19:30, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

Re: Userpage

Erm....well, the flag of Italy & it's color scheme(#008D46, #FFFFFF & #D2232C), this picture somewhere, and about 2 places for me to put my junk in. :D I'd like it if it resembled Sergeant's a little, but kind of like Bananagirl's. :) OreosTalkContribs 20:18, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
Yo. When I realized you were renovating my page, I was like, wtf? But then, I'm not sure if you're done yet(I have a stupid brain XD) so I'd just like to say: it rocks. :) I have to change the GS pic because it's fair use, but anyway... OreosTalkContribs 20:37, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
T3h awesome. :D OreosTalkContribs 20:51, 17 June 2006 (UTC)'
Oh, one more thing- I recall looking at the about me page with that little show thing with my notes, like where it says 'I am not Eisenhower's sockpuppet' and stuff. Any idea what happened to it? Looking at the page history, I don't see it anymore.... OreosTalkContribs 20:55, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
Ok. :D I'd appreciate it if you could make a link to it on my subpages page, so I can keep track of it. :) *runs off for a minute to look at the POTD* OreosTalkContribs 21:00, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
Nope. :D Thanks so much. :) I am really bad at CSS but I'm good at HTML and the Wiki format.... Thanks again. :) Hey, you didn't reply when I asked, but can I make a userbox that reads 'this userpage was designed by the wikiproject userpage design committee'? I love making userboxes. :D OreosTalkContribs 21:09, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

Userpages

Maybe we could say that the page was helped or something by the Committee, but not designed. On another note, I think we should let the users figure it out for themselves rather than doing it for them. If we do it for them, it goes against what the Committee is for. We are here to help/assist, not do things for users. Sorry if this seems a little harsh, but I'm feeling a little stressed. — The King of Kings 21:26, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

Ok, hopefully I didn't just force you to leave by accident :-( Hope you feel better. — The King of Kings 21:32, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
I wouldn't leave over this. (Because God knows I can't leave Wikipedia), but anyways once a few days pass and when the dust clears whatever the decesion of the MFD may be, you know you can always come back to me. If you don't come back, you can still come in contact with me over e-mail. :-) Cheers! — The King of Kings 21:43, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
Ok, but a few things have to change if this project can survive. We have to be accepting of all people who want to join. See participants list now. I've made other changes. — The King of Kings 22:48, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
Cool, you're not leaving :-) Now that we got that settled, hopefully now we can work on the project. Of course, that is if it isn't deleted. :-( Thanks for your comments on the Image formatting bit I'm writing up. I think I am going to do every variation I can think of, but before I do that, I gotta take a break for an hour or so and then finish up. By then and tonight, I should get that section completely finsihed. :-) — The King of Kings 00:44, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
Sure, I would be happy to create a section for that soon. But it might take a while since I don't know as many as you think I do. :-) But I can make a list of differant styles. — The King of Kings 02:49, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
No objections whatsoever. Thats sounds close to what I as going to ask if we could change it to. Cheers! — The King of Kings 04:16, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

Userbox

I stuck the userbox on this page. Unless you're on your wikibreak, of course. OreosTalkContribs 21:29, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

Pages

I am currently expanding every page. I will get to your new pages to expand soon. --GeorgeMoney T·C 02:14, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

Pages

I just added headers to them, because the ones that were there before were ugly. Can you post a screenshot of the problem? --GeorgeMoney T·C 02:52, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

Well, it was even uglier before, because the original header had 2 lines of text. Can you please post a screenshot? I got the code directly off your userpage. I don't know why it worked on your page and not on the project page. Please I need to see a screenshot. --GeorgeMoney T·C 02:55, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
I just checked it in IE and it was fine. Can you please post a screenshot? --GeorgeMoney T·C 02:58, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
this is what it looked like to me. --GeorgeMoney T·C 03:04, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
The new headers are completely messing everything up for me. --GeorgeMoney T·C 03:07, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
This is what your headers looked like Image:Screenshotproject2.png --GeorgeMoney T·C 03:11, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

Expanding

I also expanded the pictures page. --GeorgeMoney T·C 02:59, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

I'll save expanding the background page for tommorow, because that can get very complicated. GeorgeMoney T·C 03:14, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

Page Move

Good idea. And once we move it to a shorter title, we could put a header without messing anything up. I will edit the pages to link to the new title once you execute the move. --GeorgeMoney T·C 04:21, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

Maybe we should re-rename it to Wikipedia:Userpage Help? What do you think? --GeorgeMoney T·C 04:35, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

Headers

I have added a temporary header at the do it yourself page. Please tell me if it works for you. --GeorgeMoney T·C 04:50, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

What was wrong with it? Was it eating text, was it overflowing? I need to know this to fix the problem. --GeorgeMoney T·C 04:58, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
I think I might of fixed the problem. Can you look at User:GeorgeMoney/sandbox/header to see if it is still messed up? --GeorgeMoney T·C 05:08, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
Ok, I made a draft of exactly what the DIY page will look like with the header. Check out User:GeorgeMoney/sandbox/header to see it. --GeorgeMoney T·C 05:13, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
What do you mean "you see half of the first letter". You mean the first letter of the original heading? --GeorgeMoney T·C 05:19, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
Ok, I see the problem (now I'm editing from IE), and the only way to fix that is to put an image there. What image do you suggest? --GeorgeMoney VandalProof 05:44, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
Well, I would use that image, but I was thinking of something that more resembles this project. --GeorgeMoney VandalProof 05:48, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
I think it is all ready. why don't you go and see. Also, do you like the line under the header? --GeorgeMoney VandalProof 06:01, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
So, what do you think? --GeorgeMoney T·C 06:10, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

Your note

No problem....thanks for the note. I was thinking about doing that....I'm going to strike the comments, I was just deciding about closing it totally. But I think I'd better keep it open, at least for now. I think you'll see more folks changing to keep...Rx StrangeLove 05:07, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

I would recommend keeping it open. It seems you are getting significant feedback as well as winning over your critics. Ths can only be good for the long term. David D. (Talk) 05:16, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
I closed it up....folks can bring feedback to the project page. The mains points were made, at some point there comes a point of diminishing returns. I'm sure there will be people watching it and if someone feels strongly enough about it they can relist it. Rx StrangeLove 06:07, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

MFD

Hmm.. weird turn of events. :) — The King of Kings 05:28, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

I would be expecting a graphic for the Main page. Hes really good with those. — The King of Kings 05:32, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

Finally

Ok. Good. Now that it works, are we gonna implement the changes? --GeorgeMoney T·C 06:18, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

I added it to the DIY page and the text formatting page. --GeorgeMoney T·C 06:26, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
How is it more trouble if we got it to work? --GeorgeMoney T·C 06:36, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
