A little belated
editThank you for your contributions so far to Wikipedia! This is a little belated, but hopefully you are enjoying your time here. If you ever have a question, you can either use the help desk or my talk page. You could also visit the teahouse, a safe place for new editors, although you are probably fine not doing so. Thanks! RE: UBC Article
editHey,
Sorry this is my first time using edit functionality on Wikipedia. I accidentally overwrote your changes thinking your messages were automatically generated.
I found the introduction somewhat disjointed in its construction. I reorganized the introduction part of the article to bring it more in line with that of other respectable schools -- I took inspiration from UofT, Harvard, Berkeley, and a few others. Some of the existing details were unfit (either duplicated on the right hand side or substantively inadequate as a primer on the school) material in my view.
I looked across several pages, and generally in my experience, it's good to provide what the school is known for research-wise, and its rankings. The description that existed prior seemed like randomly selected facts and does not reflect well what UBC is doing nowadays in comparison its peers. I dug through UBC's history and found some notable research and added those in, in addition to some refactoring.
I'd love to have you take a read and tell me if anything crops up or needs to be improved.
There seems to be a lot to learn on Wikipedia's editing process, and I will be reviewing the resources you've provided me. U423310 (talk) 08:31, 15 April 2018 (UTC) Thanks, — Preceding unsigned comment added by U423310 (talk • contribs) 08:28, 15 April 2018 (UTC)
- @U423310: Make sure that you don't tag edits as "minor" if they aren't actually minor edits. A good rule is that an edit should only be marked as a "minor edit" when content is not introduced/removed (only for grammar fixes, rearranging, corrections, etc). I recommend you check out the wiki help page about Minor edits. Also, you can use your user page or your personal sandbox (doesn't exist currently, but simply publish an edit and it will be created) to test out any edits and formatting, or just play around to get to know the editor better. Starting out with the VisualEditor is a good way to get to know the practices of Wikipedia, and you can always switch back and forth between source editing when you need to use wiki markup or edit the infobox. You can always preview your changes before publishing to ensure that your edits are correct. Keep on contributing and learning about Wikipedia! —TheAnonymousNerd (talk • contribs) 22:42, 15 April 2018 (UTC)

ArbCom 2019 election voter message
editHey thanks for hiding the chart for now, I've asked the person who made the change to the medical charts module to take a look and see what's gone wrong 'cause I sure as hell couldn't work it out :P ♠PMC♠ (talk) 03:42, 17 April 2020 (UTC)
- Back here works. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Template:2019%E2%80%9320_coronavirus_pandemic_data/Canada/British_Columbia_medical_cases_chart&oldid=947907360 Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 03:43, 17 April 2020 (UTC)
- It's not the template that's broken; a rather large change was made to Module:Medical cases chart today and it appears to have Caused Problems. ♠PMC♠ (talk) 03:44, 17 April 2020 (UTC)

- Yeah I saw some things were changed on the actual template page. There's a small talk section about it but I'm not sure if it's exactly the same problem since the BC template does not use the "Row" thing as far as I know. —TheAnonymousNerd (talk • contribs) 03:48, 17 April 2020 (UTC)
- It must in some way, or it wouldn't be outputting that error, no? ♠PMC♠ (talk) 03:49, 17 April 2020 (UTC)
