Notice of Wikiquette Assistance discussion edit

Hello, Thargor Orlando. This message is being sent to inform you that there currently is a discussion at Wikipedia:Wikiquette assistance regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. CartoonDiablo (talk) 19:45, 20 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Quick Reply On Sowell edit

I obviously just did talk about it in the Wikiquette page and there's nothing wrong even if I did "remove myself from the situation." That aside, I suggest talking about it on the Wikiquette or here. CartoonDiablo (talk) 04:18, 24 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

The issue is at the Sowell page, so we can discuss it there. There's no "Wikiquette" problem, obviously, just a content dispute that needs solving. If you're uninterested in continuing the discussion there, say so and those of us who are trying to improve the article will do so. Thargor Orlando (talk) 04:54, 24 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
There is a Wikiquette problem because someone violating dispute resolution without going to arbitration is murky and possibly grounds for sanctions. That aside, asking to have a private discussion and being unable to wait a couple hours is a Wikiquette problem on its own. CartoonDiablo (talk) 17:04, 25 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
I'll reply to this one last time. (1) Dispute resolution is binding and that includes people not party to it such as yourself. Dwainwr123 was blocked for copyright violations, not dispute resolution. If his block had any impact on the resolution decision (which it didn't) it would have been stricken out and invalidated. (2) The problem now is not on the discussion page nor my or your pages, it's either in arbitration or Wikiquette for violating the process. I feel this should also be added to Wikiquette seeing as how you are detracting from the discussion despite me repeatedly telling you the process. CartoonDiablo (talk) 22:17, 25 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Notice of Dispute resolution discussion edit

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. The thread is "Public opinion on health care reform in the United States". Thank you.

KiloVoltaire? edit

No offense but it seems kind of suspicious that someone's first and only edit would be on the single-payer talk page especially when it deals with an issue we are discussing. I could be wrong of course. CartoonDiablo (talk) 18:07, 1 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

I'm assuming you're not accusing me of sock puppeting here. It's a heavily-discussed topic, I don't necessarily see it as suspicious at all. Thargor Orlando (talk) 18:56, 1 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Well nothing yet but is suspicious when someone puts that as their first edit before even intro material is added to their talk page. CartoonDiablo (talk) 21:51, 1 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
Assume good faith. I'm bending over backwards trying to engage you on these issues, I'd appreciate some similar effort. Thargor Orlando (talk) 01:31, 2 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

You are involved in a recently filed request for arbitration. Please review the request at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests#section name and, if you wish to do so, enter your statement and any other material you wish to submit to the Arbitration Committee. July 2012 edit

Your recent editing history at Thomas Sowell shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. Callanecc (talkcontribs) talkback (etc) template appreciated. 18:39, 19 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Edit warring in healthcare article edit

Look I'm warning you right now, if you edit war again it will be reported. CartoonDiablo (talk) 19:45, 14 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

I see you've learned nothing from your session at ArbCom. Thargor Orlando (talk) 19:54, 14 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

healthcare DRN edit

DRN discussion is up. CartoonDiablo (talk) 15:32, 16 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Now that the discussion was moved to DRN do you mind explaining your reasoning there? CartoonDiablo (talk) 16:41, 16 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
You shouldn't have done that, so no. I'll be glad to respond at the NPOV noticeboard. Thargor Orlando (talk) 16:41, 16 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
It's back at NPOV but if it's not solved there were going to DRN. CartoonDiablo (talk) 17:57, 21 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
You need to realize that you don't run the show alone here. Thargor Orlando (talk) 22:50, 21 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Name edit

Hi Thargor Orlando,

I love your name! I assume it's a Tad Williams reference. Happy editing, Firsfron of Ronchester 21:08, 27 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Nailed it in one. I know it's sort of a combination of a few things from Otherland, but it works for my purposes here. Happy holidays! Thargor Orlando (talk) 22:56, 27 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
Happy holidays to you, too! :) Firsfron of Ronchester 23:01, 27 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Copyright attribution edit

Hi Thargor. Please note this edit. For proper copyright attribution, when you perform a split (or merge) you must note where the edits came from in your edit summary with a link. Please see Wikipedia:Splitting#Procedure. You must do it on both ends—that is, also when you remove the content from the other article—and you did do that at Ed Asner when you removed the filmography, but missed it on the other end. I don't mean this as criticism, just a heads up for future reference. Keep up the good work.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 04:30, 28 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

My bad! Thanks for the heads-up, appreciate it! Thargor Orlando (talk) 04:31, 28 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Single payer warning edit

We've had this discussion ad nausum and every time the only person that doesn't agree with the consensus is you. Do not do this again. --CartoonDiablo (talk) 05:29, 28 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

You've had plenty of opportunity to make your case. You continually refuse to do so, and you have no grounds for your claim. You ignored noticeboard discussion for months. What else are we supposed to do? Thargor Orlando (talk) 14:26, 28 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for December 28 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Filmography of Ed Asner, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Zorro (TV series) and The Bronx Zoo (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Thank you for answering my call for help on The Matrix article edit

Thank you for answering my call. I'm so looking forward to your contributions. I've been doing it alone for weeks. Anthonydraco (talk) 18:26, 29 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

I've got it watchlisted, so I'll be taking a closer look and doing what I can! Thargor Orlando (talk) 18:45, 29 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
The thing that particularly need attention is on the To-do list on top of the talk page, in the yellow box. I update it constantly. Things in it, especially adding sources tagged as citation needed, need your attention. Feel free to start a new section on talk page if you want to bring up something.
