Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Hendra East West Art Nth.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Hendra East West Art Nth.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:44, 7 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Keeley-hazell-wallpapers-57.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Keeley-hazell-wallpapers-57.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 17:21, 13 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Adding images edit

I noticed when you add an image to an article that you keep enclosing the captions in brackets making them red links to an empty page? Please don't do this as other editors have to come along and remove the brackets. Sting au Buzz Me... 02:10, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Your edit summary usage edit

Hi there. When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field. If you are adding a section, please do not just keep the previous section's header in the Edit summary field - please fill in your new section's name instead. Thank you. Images from the web edit

Hi Tasos90, I've noticed that you've been taking images found from the web and uploading to wikipedia. Unless the image is not-reproducable policy is to not allow any image that does not have a "free" licence. Images from websites are usually copyrighted and should not be uploaded to Wikipedia - Peripitus (Talk) 06:32, 4 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

What are your sources for the additions to the Brisbane article? You need to cite sources for additions like that. Sting au Buzz Me... 06:39, 15 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

I strongly suggest you start explaining the additions you are making (no edit summaries) and supply sources please. I am starting to believe the additions you are making are a form of vandalism. You need to let other editors know what you are doing. Please answer my messages. Sting au Buzz Me... 06:55, 15 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to Brisbane Airport. Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. Image source problem with Image:Visnewold.jpg edit

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Visnewold.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:59, 18 March 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ricky81682 (talk) 19:59, 18 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Images and copyright edit

Tasos90, you appear to be uploading pictures that do not belong to you like Image:SKYLIFE-Brisbane2015-1-.jpg. You can ONLY do this if the image is covered by the fair use rules, or the image is freely licensed. Images like the skyline of a city, from a copyrighted website, will never be covered this way as they are so easily reproducible. Before uploading any more pictures can you please read the image use policy else your images will be deleted again and again. - Peripitus (Talk) 07:20, 29 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Image:2012a5frtr9.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on Image:2012a5frtr9.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:2012a5frtr9.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Image:Newstead-9017387-Original.jpg edit

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as Image:Newstead-9017387-Original.jpg has been listed for speedy deletion because you selected a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission. While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, this is in fact not the case[1][2]. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because images on Wikipedia need to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License or another free license, which allow anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more more information.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-3.0}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file, please understand that the vast majority of images found on the internet are not appropriate for Wikipedia. Most content on the internet is copyrighted and the creator of the image has exclusive rights to use it. Wikipedia respects the copyrights of others - do not upload images that violate others' copyrights. In certain limited cases, we may be able to use an image under a claim of fair use - if you are certain that fair use would apply here, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list. If no fair use rationale applies, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. Pegasus «C¦ 23:52, 18 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Indefinitely blocked edit

I have indefinitely blocked your account because of your persistent copyright problems. You were told a month ago that continuing to upload images that violated our copyright policy would result in a block, but you have continued to ignore the messages here asking you to stop.

Uploading images that you find on the internet is not acceptable - the vast majority of images that you find somewhere cannot be used on Wikipedia. Uploading images that you found from random websites only makes work for somebody else to have to clean up after you. Even if the source website doesn't mention that the image is copyrighted, it doesn't matter - every creative work is AUTOMATICALLY copyrighted and we have no right to use it unless licensed to do so. If you did not personally take the photograph with your camera, please do not upload the image here. There are very restrictive conditions under which we might use non-free content under a claim of fair use - mainly for things like company logos in an article about the company or television screenshots in an article about that particular television program.

If you would like to be unblocked, the condition is that you must ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions before uploading any image. Any further violation of the copyright policy will result in an immediate indefinite re-block. When you are willing to agree with this condition, please leave {{unblock|your reason here}} below this message and an administrator will consider your request. --B (talk) 11:20, 1 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
