Personal Information on your Userpage edit

Hi Swordhawk666. My name is Backslash Forwardslash. I am a Wikipedia administrator, and I noticed you have recently created a userpage. I don't intend to scare you away or attempt to intimidate you, but I thought you might want to reconsider some of the items on your userpage. You may have not realised that the items on your userpage release personal information about yourself (real name or age etc), which could be used against you in the future. While 99% of all the editors on Wikipedia are friendly, welcoming and harmless, there is a chance your personal information could be misused by editors not so 'high-minded'. A handful of editors have even felt real-world implications due to their Wikipedia edits and release of personal information.

Protecting your privacy, and remaining anonymous while on the internet — on any site — is a good idea. The internet is a worldwide and largely unregulated medium, and while Wikipedia is one of the safer sites, there are definite risks while online. With cyber-bullying and cyberstalking becoming increasingly commonplace, it is important that you take every precaution to remain safe.

I have deleted some revisions of your userpage in respect to your privacy for the time being, just in case you wish to reverse on your decision to have such content on public display. As a result, the information is only available to administrators. You are, of course, welcome to ask myself or another administrator to restore them, but I just wanted to make you aware of the risks involved with releasing personal information on such a public forum. If you wish to have the personal information removed so that even administrators cannot view it, I can request oversight on your behalf. You are also welcome to discuss this with me on my talk page, or privately via e-mail if you have any concerns. Again, I do not want to scare you. Wikipedia is a fantastic place with an incredibly supportive community. I'm just trying to ensure you are fully aware of the risks involved in editing, which are very similar to the risks you come across every day online. Hope to hear from you. \ Backslash Forwardslash / {talk} 06:57, 12 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry, It was meant to be a joke. Didn't you get it? SH6

RE: Block note edit

Hey, sorry for the delay in replying; I'm not usually like that. Anyway, User:69.113.79.227, right? I dunno; from talk page proceedings, I think this has been the same person since before May of this year. If (s)he has been vandalizing despite acknowledging warnings, I'm not too keen about unblocking, even though I do appreciate the occasional constructive edits. If you'd like to discuss this with the user, or maybe encourage them to get an account, I could reconsider. Thanks for looking at it, by the way! Cheers, Master of Puppets 14:45, 9 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Non-free content on your userpage edit

You are not permitted to have non-free content on your userpage. This is codified in policy at WP:NFCC #9. Such images may only appear in articles. You've placed another non-free image, in this case File:SouthParkHD.png, onto your userpage. If you look at the image description page you will see a box in the "licensing" section. If you read the content of that box, you will see the image is copyrighted. This is otherwise known as "non-free". You can't host such content on your userpage. You may not violate this policy. If you continue to violate it, you will be blocked from editing. I hope I've been clear. --Hammersoft (talk) 15:43, 14 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Super Mario Birds Badge edit

To Swordhawk666. I think you are kind of correct about Wikipedia thinking the picture of Mario is crap. People kind of deleted some pictures from my page. Sapsltl 03:54, 15 November 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sapsltl (talkcontribs)

Greetings edit

Thank you for your message.. I am not aware of a policy or even guideline that prohibits or suggestively deters the use of the fake message bar on my talk page. If I have.. "violated" you or caused undue stress in your editing, I can only suggest that you not edit my talk page.. Thus avoiding undue stress and violations. You have been blocked for a period of 48 hours from editing for persistent vandalism. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below; but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Amalthea 16:35, 1 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
To clarify: This block is both in response to your unconstructive editors of today, and this announcement, no matter how serious that may have been.
We try hard here to produce something we can all be proud of, something that is useful for everyone, and silliness doesn't help. Articles are monitored, and users messing around are reverted and blocked. I do acknowledge that you made some constructive edits in the past. Why not try and get back to constructive edits like that, once this block expires?

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Simply because I wasn't using this account. My friends know my password as they forced me to tell them, i'm not sure if they're my friends anymore.

Decline reason:

This is almost the worst reason to unblock I've ever seen. Technically, I should reblock you indefinitely since your account has been hacked. Instead of that I think we'll just leave this short block in place. Beeblebrox (talk) 08:16, 2 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Yeah, afterwards I would very highly recommend a password change. ;)  f o x  08:38, 2 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
