Image copyright problem with Image:Quintet jeff 01.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Quintet jeff 01.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Matthuxtable 19:09, 11 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Your username edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Swmusic", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Trammel Museum of Art". However, you are invited to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally, such as "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "Jack Smith at the XY Foundation", and "WidgetFan87".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. Moreover, I recommend that you read our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please create a new account or request a username change that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Swmusic has been our user name since first setting up an article on Southwest Chamber Music five years ago. Swmusic is not used otherwise except as part of our website address. I have two articles subject to review currently, so let me know if I need to change our user name, and what would be best. If a change is necessary, I would prefer to change it after our pages are approved. Thank you!

Hello again. Unfortunately, it's still not allowed, even if you've had it for a while. Nothing bad will happen to your articles waiting for review and you will still be notified, if you request a username change.
Usernames should reflect you as an individual. You can use your real name if you're comfortable with doing so, or you could use something else entirely. Anon126 (notify me of responses! / talk / contribs) 19:56, 4 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of LA International New Music Festival edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on LA International New Music Festival requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organized event (tour, function, meeting, party, etc.), but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. I have deleted this article. You contested the deletion with the following rationales:
  • "it is produced by a Grammy Award winning organization (Southwest Chamber Music)" - that is irrelevant for assessing notability, because notability is not inherited on Wikipedia.
  • "is notable as cited in the reviews of the 2012 and 2013 festivals" - citations or mentions do not confer notability. We need coverage.
  • "it serves composers of note from around the world" - irrelevant for assessing notability by Wikipedia's definition.
  • "It is unique and not replicated elsewhere" - uniqueness is not a criterion for notability.
Please see Wikipedia:Golden rule for a general overview of what is required, with links to relevant policies and guidelines.
Also, change your username. Go to WP:CHU/Simple and do this. You have been asked in the past. I will give you a few days before I block this account. Organizations cannot have Wikipedia accounts. If you want to maintain an organizational connection in your username, it is fine to request a change to "John at Southwest Music" or something similar, as long as it is clear that the username represents a single individual and not an organization. ~Amatulić (talk) 10:52, 5 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for March 17 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Chamber music, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Chamber. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
