Now, almost two years since I started editing Wikipedia and 5 months since a bot put that stupid welcome message up, maybe people will stop telling me "Welcome to Wikipedia." superlusertc 2007 September 03, 09:04 (UTC)

Type specimens edit

Hi Superluser, and welcome to wikipedia. Thanks for your message and compliment. You guess the format pretty much spot on. The specimen word is chosen from the language the face was designed for, with selection based somewhat on the time period and a choice of characters that seem to show the face well. I do not have a formal template or anything. But I imagine you could drag one onto your desktop, open it in Illustrator and sort of "rverse engineer" it. I am not at my work computer right now, but would be happy to send you RGB color values for backgrounds, etc. Best, Jim CApitol3 12:20, 10 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I don't think so edit

I don't see much in common between your edits and mine, so I doubt we have any common background. Feel free to drop me an e-mail if you want. -- Gabi S. 20:31, 22 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

No problem. If there's ever a straight-but-not narrow category, I'll probably join. superlusertc 2008 January 08, 08:59 (UTC)

You're hint that my, or any, argument is not getting far is erroneous in that all arguments have been ignored. The "debate" regarding this issue is the kind of high-jacking by tiny committee people complain about endlessly. Hyacinth (talk) 01:08, 9 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi, the section on the shoes is still in the architecture article Pilotis – any news on that? Julia Rossi (talk) 23:05, 7 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:WOTW-NYT-headline.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:WOTW-NYT-headline.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 04:25, 18 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, but it's never been orphaned. superlusertc 2008 February 18, 13:57 (UTC)

Connections to real-world objects and locations edit

Thanks, I'll notify everyone when a bunch of people are interested. Not sure where the project will live yet...the Version 1.0 people might have some use for it. - Dan Dank55 (talk) 02:36, 1 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

WP:CANVAS edit

Please see this, because you violated it by notifing Noghtmare is here, and others, with your section about Anqulist(Sorry, don't know how to spell it) This is just a notification. SimonKSK 01:38, 4 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

How so? My notice was not biased (it stated only the facts and did not attempt to persuade), partisan (it informed editors on both sides of the issue) or secret (it was on-wiki). It was also a limited posting, informing only the two editors directly involved (though I did inform one of the editors via both his user talk page and his IP talk page). I can't see how this is violating WP:Canvas. superlusertc 2009 February 04, 05:28 (UTC)

You should have used Template:Please see for these kinds of things. SimonKSK 22:47, 4 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Mombasa edit

You characterized information in the article lede as "vandalism." I found a recent edit regarding the birthers' theorizing, which seemed to me not entirely incongruous for the article, since the city has been much in the news recently as a result of this theory. I corrected the grammar and added some detail. I don't object at all to the entire thing being stricken, but I very much object to it being labeled vandalism. The original edit may not have been perfectly encyclopedic, but it seems to me it was probably made with some level of good faith. And my rewrite of it was definitely made in good faith. WP guidelines call for a presumption of good faith, and I object to being labeled a vandal when there's no evidence at all of anything other than a differing opinion about what properly goes in the lede. Monkeyzpop (talk) 22:38, 5 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

The original change reads like vandalism. Perhaps it is not, and I do apologize, but it read that way. Such speculation does not belong in the article. superlusertc 2009 August 05, 23:30 (UTC)

Hi. As you recently commented in the straw poll regarding the ongoing usage and trial of Pending changes, this is to notify you that there is an interim straw poll with regard to keeping the tool switched on or switching it off while improvements are worked on and due for release on November 9, 2010. This new poll is only in regard to this issue and sets no precedent for any future usage. Your input on this issue is greatly appreciated. Off2riorob (talk) 23:50, 20 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
