How to change user name edit

Hi, I've taken over an existing ptoject from another person. She changed the email on the account to my one so that I may continue editing the article but the user name remains the same and she does not wish to have it associated with this account. Is there any way I can change it now? We are both first time editors so this may be a common mistake. Hoping somone has a solution. Not sure if I can access the sandbox if I create an account for myself. Please help! Sue Cosgrave (talk) 13:55, 7 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Accounts cannot be shared like this. Theroadislong (talk) 14:14, 7 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
ok so I need to open a new account? Will I be able to go into the sandbox if I do so? If the previous editor deletes her account, I presume all her work will dissapear? Sue Cosgrave (talk) 14:22, 7 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Accounts cannot be deleted, they also CANNOT be shared. Theroadislong (talk) 17:38, 7 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

I will open my own account but will I be able to find the draft in question? Sue Cosgrave (talk) 18:18, 7 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yes it will still be here Draft:Farid Allawerdi, you really do need to stop using this account now as it is NOT yours and could lead to a block. Theroadislong (talk) 19:42, 7 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
I am the account holder. The other editor will open her own account. As you will note, i changed back to my own email so that she may open her own account using her own email. 2001:8A0:FEFC:DE01:8FC7:B921:8BBF:2CB8 (talk) 20:12, 7 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
