Miscellaneous
- Wikipedia:User scripts/Most imported scripts now also shows the number of active users for each script. It will now be updated by a bot periodically.
- Twinkle's Morebits library added a new
Morebits.dateclass to replace the moment library. It can handle custom formatting and natural language for dates, as well as section header regexes. If you were usinggetUTCMonthNameorgetUTCMonthNameAbbrevwithDateobjects, those have been deprecated and should be updated. - User:SD0001/find-archived-section was made a gadget. You can enable it from your gadget preferences, in the Browsing section.

- Discretionary sanctions have been authorized for all pages and edits related to COVID-19, to be logged at WP:GS/COVID19.
- Following a recent discussion on Meta-Wiki, the edit filter maintainer global group has been created.
- A request for comment has been proposed to create a new main page editor usergroup.
- A request for comment has been proposed to make the bureaucrat activity requirements more strict.
Technical news
- The Editing team has been working on the talk pages project. You can review the proposed design and share your thoughts on the talk page.
- Enterprisey created a script that will show a link to the proper Special:Undelete page when viewing a since-deleted revision, see User:Enterprisey/link-deleted-revs.
Miscellaneous
- A request for comment closed with consensus to create a Village Pump-style page for communication with the Wikimedia Foundation.

Please prevent User:12Profile from editing his/her own talkpage (User talk:12Profile). 12Profile is blanking it repeatedly. -◊PRAHLADBalaji 01:09, 9 May 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Prahlad balaji, users are permitted to remove warnings and messages from their talk page; it is an indication that they have read and acknowledged the message. The only (common) thing they are not permitted to remove is declined unblock requests while they are blocked. If they choose to remove the prior messages which have been left for them, that is entirely acceptable. stwalkerster (talk) 01:13, 9 May 2020 (UTC)

Thank you for following up.
I got halfway through a handwritten block notice, and then realised what time it was. I was going to write how I was going to give the user a chance to reform via non-mainspace contributions... anyway, no issues with me about the all-spaces block. Perhaps that was what I should have done in the first place...

- That's not a reason to request event coordinator rights. Given your last few edits, I'm concerned that you currently do not appear to have the necessary skills to be leading an outreach event, and I suggest getting a bit more experience with the technicalities of editing before attempting to guide others. stwalkerster (talk) 19:00, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

- Only a small fraction of pages are protected, and even if you do come across a page which is protected, you can always make an edit request on the article's talk page. I believe instructions can be found when you click the edit button on a protected page, so when you come across one you have the instructions right there. :) stwalkerster (talk) 19:19, 13 May 2020 (UTC)
- This editor has also requested autopatrol and AutoWikiBrowser permissions. Honestly, I've run into this editor and even tried to help him out at times but currently he's no where near the competency levels necessary for any of those permissions. Best, GPL93 (talk) 19:57, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

The complete failure to properly place the template on the AWB request, and the two usurpation requests (for a user which doesn't even exist), and the lack of understanding of what they were requesting are why I've responded in the way I did. stwalkerster (talk) 20:21, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

- I'm starting to believe this editor has serious WP:CIR issues. They have created duplicate articles at least twice, and both times on articles that they themselves has created and one time tried to undo my attempts to fix it; published an article in the mainspace entirely in Hindi, and appears to be recreating articles that have been deleted previously except this time with barely any context (see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Chhonkar Jat) and is now mass-publishing articles that are blatant WP:COPYVIOs and barely readable ones to boot. - Bharatpandiya0, Whether or not the content of the draft was originally written by you or not, the tone of that text is entirely unsuitable for an encyclopedia as it's very promotional in tone. It seems to me like you have a conflict of interests here, and that means you probably shouldn't be writing about that topic.
