El rápido de las 9.15 edit

Why did you nominate this page for speedy deletion? WP:CSD#A7 does not apply to films. It only applies to real persons, individual animals, organizations, web content, and organized events. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 01:15, 29 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Richard Palmese PROD edit

I just added sources and removed your tag - there are a ton of sources for Richard Palmese, and I'd much rather save articles than delete them. The references can still be better, in case you're up for it. It's WAY MORE FUN than tagging articles for deletion. Julie JSFarman (talk) 23:11, 30 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

archive.is edit

I have a question. Why do some editors want to use archive.is? Isn't Wikipedia satisfactory as its own archive? I really don't understand. Robert McClenon (talk) 17:58, 1 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion declined: User:Minecraftenderman17/Books/1 edit

Hello Ssaz 12, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of User:Minecraftenderman17/Books/1, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: User Minecraftenderman17 is a registered user, so this is one if his/her subpages. . You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. kelapstick(bainuu) 11:46, 10 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nominations edit

Hi Ssaz 12: Please do not tag foreign language articles CSD G1, as you did at Mindshare Nederland. The instructions actually say that among things excluded from G1 are "coherent non-English material and poorly translated material". Simply being in a foreign language is also listed at the bottom as one of the invalid reasons for nominating for speedy deletion. When you see an article in a language other than English, unless you can determine that the article already exists on the Wikipedia in that language (A2) or we already have an English-language article on the topic here (A10), please tag it with {{Template:Not English}} and follow the instructions on the resulting template to add it at WP:Pages needing translation into English, so that someone who can read it can evaluate it. It happens surprisingly often that someone creates an article in a foreign language - sometimes they intend to translate it, sometimes they think the software will automatically place it in the correct Wikipedia. Either way, it's insulting to label something in a foreign language as "patent nonsense", and if it gets deleted we may have lost a useful article in an under-represented topic area.

After coming here to leave this note, I notice that you are still quite a new user, but you are using Twinkle to patrol new pages, and there are already a number of error notices above about your tagging. Perhaps it might be a good idea for you to become more familiar with editing here before doing new page patrol? If you do decide to continue doing it, please keep referring to the different criteria rules, and don't rely on your memory. Even experienced new page patrollers find it hard to keep everything in mind. Yngvadottir (talk) 06:31, 18 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

You might want to be more careful about tagging empty categories for deletion. Some are clearly maintenance categories that shouldn't be deleted even if empty. Category:American Samoa road articles needing KML should indicate by its name alone that it's for maintaining articles, because it's about a type of article (American Samoa road article) that has a defect (needs KML), unlike Category:Roads in American Samoa situation. Many maintenance categories are filled by templates based on different situations, so they may be empty from time to time. Imzadi 1979  04:51, 18 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
