Hello Springfulutopia! Your additions to Patricia Windrow have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. All other images must be made available under a free and open license that allows commercial and derivative reuse to be used on Wikipedia.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Modussiccandi (talk) 18:54, 16 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Yes, I wasn't sure how to characterize the images I incorporated; I will get permission from the author. Springfulutopia (talk) 18:58, 16 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

The images were not the problem. You copied several paragraphs of copyrighted text. Wikipedia's copyright rules apply to both text and images. Modussiccandi (talk) 19:03, 16 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Oh, I see! I'm sorry; thank you for the clarification. I have been in contact with the owner of the site from which I took the text. He gave me his permission this morning (via email) to use the text from the www.windrowgalleries.com site. I will try to figure out how I can officially register his permission with Wikipedia. Thank you! Springfulutopia (talk) 19:05, 16 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Patricia Windrow moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Patricia Windrow, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your page to draft space (with a prefix of Draft: before the article title) where you can work on it with minimal disruption. When you feel that it meets our notability and neutrality requirements, and is thus ready for mainspace, please submit it using the Articles for Creation template on the page. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 12:00, 5 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Justlettersandnumbers: Thank you so much, Yes, it's on my list of things to do! I appreciate you moving it to Draftspace. I hope you don't mind me reaching back out if I have more questions about this as I move forward! Springfulutopia (talk) 20:13, 5 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Hodé Frankl

edit

The article Hodé Frankl has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication here that this person is sufficiently notable to have an article in this project

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
