October 2014 edit

Hi there! Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to United States Senate election in Maine, 2014 does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. Thanks! 331dot (talk) 19:53, 24 October 2014 (UTC) Hello 331dot! I got your notice that I didn't provide a edit summary. Sorry about that. I changed the primary results because blank ballots are not, by my account added to the official tally provided my the Maine Secretary of State.-Spongebob1999Reply

Thanks for the explanation, but are you saying no source was given for the figure? I presume it wasn't just made up. 331dot (talk) 21:23, 24 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi 331dot. Was there a link provided to The Secretary of State of Maine, that showed the blank votes? Thanks.-Spongebob

The table had a citation linking to the SoS that led to a page with Excel spreadsheets containing the totals, including blank votes. 331dot (talk) 21:39, 24 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Can someone upload a picture for Terry Goddard (Former Arizona Attorney General) for some reason I can't get a picture of him to upload.

You would be better off asking at Talk:Terry Goddard. 331dot (talk) 13:15, 26 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Use of Person infobox edit

Don't hardcode the ages of people into their infoboxes. Every single one of the many infoboxes you have done this to will now have to be updated every year. That's why we have Template:Birth date and age. Please go back and use it on all of the infoboxes where you added an age. Similarly, read Template:Infobox person to see how to use the person info box and the allowed field. You will note that "residence" is not spelled "residencse" as you have done. Please go back and fix all of the infoboxes where you made that mistake. Meters (talk) 21:00, 26 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Please leave the templates alone. They work, they're easier to work with for editing and they don't have to be updated each year. Andy Dingley (talk) 00:08, 27 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for November 1 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited United States Senate election in Massachusetts, 1990, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Independent. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

November 2014 edit

Hello, I'm Wtmitchell. I wanted to let you know that I undid one of your recent contributions —the one you made with this edit to List of Governors of Illinois— because it didn’t appear constructive to me. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Wtmitchell (talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 02:45, 13 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Rauner edit

Read a little closer. The article's infobox doesn't say that he's the Governor, it specifically says that he is the Governor-elect. Regards, AzureCitizen (talk) 17:35, 17 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
