Speedy deletion nomination of Spenser Olson

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Spenser Olson, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Conflict of interest editing

edit

  Hello, Soworship. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Spenser Olson, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Melcous (talk) 06:01, 9 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

What needs fixed?

Ok I read through those articles. I think I've steered clear. What do you propose changes in the article for it to stay? Also what do you see that completely screams promotional? Thanks. Soworship (talk) 06:05, 9 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

I've replied to you on the article talk page Talk:Spenser_Olson. Let me know if you need additional information on WIkipedia's policies! Marjoleinkl (talk) 06:54, 9 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
I just came back online to check on things and I noticed the page was deleted, due to notability concerns. If you'd like to create a new article in the future, make sure the subject meets the notability guidelines. In very short: The topic, or person must have had significant coverage from reliable secondary sources, that are independent from the subject. You can check WP:GNG and in this case WP:PEOPLE specifically for more information. Marjoleinkl (talk) 12:59, 9 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

  Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Talk:Spenser Olson, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 22:28, 9 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

  Please do not remove the {{copyvio}} template from articles, as you did with Spenser Olson. Your action has been reverted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept non-free text or images borrowed from other websites or printed material; such additions will be deleted, and removing copyright notices will not help your case. You can properly contest the deletion at Wikipedia:Copyright problems. If you are the owner of the material, you may release the material under the Creative Commons and GFDL licenses, as detailed at WP:IOWN. Alternatively, you are welcome to create a draft in your own words at Talk:Spenser Olson/Temp. If you continue to insert copyright violations and/or remove copyright notices, you may be blocked from editing. Blackguard 04:29, 10 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

  Hello, Soworship, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia. Our policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow this, and users who use multiple accounts may be blocked from editing. If you operate multiple accounts directly or with the help of another person, please disclose these connections. Thank you. Melcous (talk) 06:00, 10 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

  Please stop making disruptive edits, as you did at Spenser Olson.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. Melcous (talk) 15:30, 10 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Your recent editing history at Spenser Olson shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.   You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Spenser Olson. 331dot (talk) 23:48, 10 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
