Default sort edit

Heads up that Annegret Bollée was correctly sorted as "Bollée, Annegret", so that she would be listed under B in all categories - your change to "Annegret Bollée" meant she was instead sorted by her first name, under A, which is incorrect. --Lord Belbury (talk) 16:09, 7 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Same issue on Helen Andrews (writer); I will change it back; perhaps the script for Hot Default Sort needs to be updated? Perhaps we should contact that person? cc: @User:Lord Belbury --FeanorStar7 (talk) 16:53, 22 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
@FeanorStar7: Looks like user error. Testing the script out on Ross John Angel, if I remove the defaultsort and look at the page, it suggests adding the article title "Ross John Angel" as the defaultsort. Which seems a reasonable starting point to give the user, given a default sort of "last word comma other words" will be actively incorrect for a lot of articles. Fair to assume that anyone using the tool will have already read and understood WP:DEFAULTSORT, I think.
I assume Slovenichibo saw "Angel, Ross John" and thought it was incorrect (which it would be in some languages), so clicked the button to remove it, then clicked the plus button to add back the default. Hopefully they're back on track now. --Lord Belbury (talk) 17:32, 22 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Lord Belbury: ok, thanks for checking that.--FeanorStar7 (talk) 17:37, 22 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
