Hi Slhalpert! You created a thread called Wikipedia Backlog / Articles Needing Sections at Wikipedia:Teahouse, but it has been archived because there was no discussion for a few days. You can still find the archived discussion here. If you have any additional questions that weren't answered then, please create a new thread.

Hi! The first time I'm having this issue. The middle name for Robin Thicke is "Alan" but someone keeps saying it's Charles and that just is not correct. I am a representative for him and happy to discuss further! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Slhalpert (talkcontribs) 01:51, 16 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

The name "Charles" has been in the article for 13 years (originally added in this edit) so it's no wonder there's opposition to having it changed based on your word alone. However, as the edit predates the sources now used to reference its contents by a large margin, thus begging the question of what was used to source what, I'd be willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. Can you *prove* that you are indeed Robin Thicke's representative and, more importantly, that his middle name is indeed Alan and not Charles? 78.28.54.200 (talk) 03:41, 16 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
This doesn't specifically require an administrator; As noted by the above user, we can't just take your word for it, because any user can claim to be anything here. A published reliable source will be needed that has this information. You should offer this or otherwise discuss this on the article talk page, Talk:Robin Thicke. Additionally, if you are Robin Thicke's representative, you must comply with the paid editing policy; this is a Wikipedia Terms of Use requirement and not negotiable. You should also review conflict of interest. 331dot (talk) 06:17, 16 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
I understand the conflict of interest rules and would not pay for editing that is why I reached out for help since this is a factual error. Please see the official court document for the United States District Court Central District of California, Western Division Case No. CV13-06004-JAK that refers to Mr. Thicke and "Robin Alan Thicke," his correct legal name, on page 4. Let me know if there's any additional information I can share! [1]
As this doesn't specifically require an administrator, I've converted your request to a regular Help Me request. The issue is not you paying for edits but the fact that you state you are Robin Thicke's representative; I assume that you do not represent him for free. Since he is paying you to represent him, and you are here as his representative, you are a paid editor and must comply with WP:PAID.
Is this court document publicly accessible to anyone that wants it? If it is a private document or otherwise not accessible to the general public, it is not acceptable as a source. All that is needed is any published source with his name in it; any sort of news story, biography(even an official biography on a website). You should discuss this as I indicated on the article talk page. 331dot (talk) 16:35, 16 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
In the interim, I have removed the name Charles as no source is offered for it. 331dot (talk) 16:38, 16 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
