Hi I added a new link to a new university based free BSL resource and deleted a link yesterday in the British Sign Language section which you then reinstated. 86.4.89.235 There are two separate proposed edits here: (1) the adding of a new external link; (2) choosing to delete another external link. Both can be done, with sound reasons. Each should be done on their own merit, and doing both at the same confuses the issues. Whether a site is commercial doesn't have much to do with whether it is useful. As I noted in the partial-reversion[1], I have no idea whether the new UCL link is better, but there seems no reason to delete a previous one... It would help if you could explain your reasons (on the Talk:British Sign Language page) about why the other link should be removed. —Sladen (talk) 10:51, 19 January 2015 (UTC)
Thank you for your reply. This same link was removed by MrOllie in April of 2014, presumably for the reason I queried? 86.4.89.235: The policy covering external links to WP:EL; generally we try to minimise the number of external links. I had taken your statement above "there are some [links] that I would like to add" to mean that you had a list of some links that you would like to add. Adding a new section/comment at the bottom of Talk:British Sign Language should the same as on this user-specific User talk:Sladen page. Salvidrim: Thanks for the heads up. The transcript was created primarily there for collective benefit of those dealing with handling the User talk:PMpuppet incident from yesterday (Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#PM (BBC Radio 4)). As such it's significantly more useful if the transcripts are somewhere multiple editors can get to them… ie. where it was, at least for a week or so until the meta issues are resolved. Dom497. I'm unsure how deleting a disambiguation page at Hogwarts Express (attraction) will help users differentiate between various Hogwarts Express attractions available around the world.
For the Hogwarts Express (funicular), the source material would appear to describe its origin fairly well: Jaws offered the largest area for us to create something that was about the same footprint that we did back at Hogsmeade.[13]Where would the train go? Of course, it will go backstage, but the guests will never know because we’re going to take them on the actual journey.[14]That created the whole idea of the Hogwarts Express. Of course, we [already] had a parked Hogwarts Express,[15]There’s no limitation, no ride-height limitation. You get on the train, and it’s a train except the journey is magical[16]. Its raison d'être was to get several thousand people per hour from A→B, because location B is where development land was available. From the source material we can also see that the screened windows were an artifact of needing to travel over the backlot/backstage area to reach the new site and that perception from the potential passengers of it being an attraction is later.[17] All-in-all, it's probably unhelpful to presume that it is "a ride" like a roller-coaster going from A→A; this is not what the source material supports. It moves passengers from A→B and passengers boarding require a valid ticket for the destination. On the one hand it appear to be more akin to the Chester Zoo#Monorail, Disneyland Railroad, Disneyland Monorail System; on the other hand there is no round-tripping: passengers must disembark at the destination and leave the system. —Sladen (talk) 12:59, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
when I think about, I actually think it's half ride half transportation thingy. It's not like a monorail where you get on and brings you somewhere. The HE brings you into a new world with a storyline to it, making it a ride expirence as well. Either way, I'll still be re-writing the article to better structure it (I'll just be moving around the current paragraphs for the most part). My goal is to get it to GA. More than happy for you to work on improvements (Wikipedia is a collaborative process); but please make the improvements themselves on the article itself so that others can co-operative and we don't end up with a WP:MERGE mess for an admin to deal with. As noted before WP:CUTPASTE is not acceptable on Wikipedia.
For telling the three planning applications apart: the south station refers to station, exit tunnel and front entry stair + a medium sewer benefit contribution from likely from filling in the Dragon pond; the second refers to Stair Tower 1–4; and the third refers to exit capacity, boiler rooms, previouly approved mass gradings and a large sewer benefit contribution likely from filling the bigger Jaws pond. Of course, in the initial place I used the various available non-WP:RS (some listed on Talk:Hogwarts Express (funicular) to locate the numbers and confirm an understanding of which was which. Sorry, but I'm going to be working on the article in my sandbox. I've done it this way at least 30 times over 3 years and no one has ever given me a problem with it. And if I were to edit the actual article it would be a mess because things would be incomplete (I work at my own pace :D ). The rule (that I made for myself) I have always followed is that I watchlist the article I am re-writing. If anyone makes any changes, I make the changes on my draft so when I do go "copy and paste", there is no mess. Also, do you happen to be a Harry Potter fan? I'm having trouble trying to figure out which house this is: hyoutu.be/-oeHJmwD-sQ?t=5m15s. Finally, if those are what your basing permits off of, there is no way that can be used. It's borderline OR. I believe the original concern expressed was with the various third parties sites interpreting the permits were. The permits themselves of factual public records and eminently suitable as citation source.

Hey again (wow...I like to talk to you a lot!!). So I removed one of the statements you added that linked to a YouTube video containing the NBC broadcast. Obviously that's a major copyright violation (I'm surprised it's still on YouTube). NBC does have the broadcast cut up into parts their website, however my computer doesn't seem like it wants to play it (hate Acer computers). So perhaps you can figure out which section the of the broadcast you need to cite? Sorry! Everything we link to as a source is copyrighted by somebody; the citation is to the original television programme; I've restored it[20] minus the URL WP:CITE#Convenience links if that's deemed to be the problem. The offset (24:00) is in the citation—the date is from a title-card, and the rest is in the narration following that point. We're more than welcome to add a convenience link to another copy if one can be located, but the link is not compulsory if alternatives can't be found. Dom497: Normal long-term everyday use verses exceptional bursts/peaks. For a human the equivalent might be jogging/walking (possible for many hours) vs. sprinting (possible for 10–20 seconds only). Peak current is generally used for a short burst to take up slack and starting things moving (overcoming the coefficient of friction). Dom497: Were such a change to be proposed on theHogwarts Express (funicular) article, I might try to encourage rephrasing it to read something like "and runs at 215 kilowatts"→"has a rated load of 215 kilowatts". Normally tender (rail) is singular (except for rare cases such as LNER Class A3 4472 Flying Scotsman#In popular culture running with two tenders to allow sufficient water capacity in North America, and after the end of steam. The thing is is that TPT is completely unreliable so that source has to go (eventually). With the video you linked, though we both know it always enters the station in reverse, another editor can easily question it and say that only shows one instance; no proof that it always happens. When I was making the major edit, I was trying to avoid getting confused with which cites we're unreliable, duplicates, etc. As a result, I didn't rename any ref names which so happened to contain your error (not mine) from the revision I linked on the article talk page. A Wikipedia article is not something that is WP:FINISHED at a particular point in time—however each edit should stand on its WP:OWNFEET. Any use of WP:REVERT should clearly give a rationale and abide by policy (eg. WP:3RR). Perhaps you can help my understand a little more about pre-release cover versions and how large this categorisation/subject area might be. Looking at the potential use of {{pre-release cover version}} the navbox and comparing it to the guidelines in WP:NAVBOX it appeared to be that it would be unlikely to meet "1. All articles within a template relate to a single, coherent subject."; "3. The articles should refer to each other, to a reasonable extent. or "5. If not for the navigation template, an editor would be inclined to link many of these articles in the See also sections of the articles.". I noticed your comment about missing urls on AN/I. It reminds me of something I always mean to raise, one of the key issues with web citation, which also plays into the question of the "quote" parameter that's currently causing so much unneeded unpleasantness.
That is, if I check a ref URL and it supports the assertion, should I not update the accessdate? Or better still have a first and last accessdate? I noticed your comment about missing urls on AN/I. It reminds me of something I always mean to raise, one of the key issues with web citation, which also plays into the question of the "quote" parameter that's currently causing so much unneeded unpleasantness.
That is, if I check a ref URL and it supports the assertion, should I not update the accessdate? Or better still have a first and last accessdate? In the present case, for example, there is every likelihood that many of the urls will be different, and no guarantee that the content is the same as the original citer saw.

Those infos are totally try , easy to check wit Swiss administration, Billy Boy being the name BillyBoy* has on his id pears, the books are on sale at amazon , and the third one is on Rizzoli usa website..... Wikipedia is a summary of existing human knowledge, so what matters is that information is WP:VERIFY and traceable to an original already-published source outside Wikipedia; called a reliable source (see WP:RS): this is a reference work, academic work, newspaper, non-self-published book…). You've mentioned Switzerland as being a possible later residence, so I've started a discussion at Talk:BillyBoy*#Residence to see if we can find sources to back that up and allow it to be included. Look i'm truly having a hard time going through this , i'm work in the field of contemporary art and antiques, what i say are just facts i learned along . Billy Boy moved to Switerland at least 20 years ago , it's been all over the local news , not everything is on line, but I mean he has a fondation there he had shows in museums there .... Do you want more proofs .... And may i ask you how you got so mush authority in the field of fashion and doll collecting ? .... Well . You did find some good articles . Do you actually read french ? ( I am French) . They are saying BillyBoy* is born in Vienna Austria , from teen parents , he was adopted in USA at age of 4 by parents from Russian origins . Very common fact I would say , Russian immigrants in America who want to adopte a child, very difficult procedure, and end up adopting a supposed "uneasier" case, meaning a already 4 year old child .
so what i wrote previously about his birth was right , about the date, I have it in my files forever, don't remember how.

if you scroll down this page you will find pictures of the article I had in mind ( I read that as a teen) , the link is Fondation Tanagra , the pictures of the cover of ACTUEL and the article , are quite small after the text but you can click on them and can see a picture of BillyBoy* in company of Erté in his house in Ibiza . I could translate some lines for you.
You can also see many pictures of BillyBoy* in mundane situations, with famous people like Sonia Rykiel and Bettina Graziani ( last companion of Ali Khan , the son ....)

Done[30]. As the request was initially made on the incorrect Talk page, please try to leave it a few days for any suggestions/comments from other editors. There are also a couple of factual dates that ideally need finding + citing.
I'm not sure what the other hotel changes to are. But please try to think about the kinds of changes I've made here, and see if you can see similar patterns that can be changed. Then you can ping me about those for help/review and over time the material you're writing should hopefully become closer to what Wikipedia's policies require! Much obliged for the help so far. I have roughly 30 more pages from which I believe I can distill the "acceptable" elements for inclusion in Wikipedia. Clearly, I don't expect you to repeat this process 30 times and I don't expect to find 30 other people as generous as you have been. Would a good process be to give others "several days" to comment on the sorts of changes that I made with the Royal York and, if nobody does, then post the changes? Blueberry Hill, I am happy to help you with all thirty, as long as for each one of the thirty it becomes easier/less involved—ie. you are learning what is appropriate and the WP:MOS, and self-correcting the next one before asking for checking. I've added a few [vague]/[clarification needed]/[citation needed] flags. For the Talk:Fairmont Royal York, if you want to say that Elizabeth II used, or even preferred, the hotel, then that needs to be citing; or if it can't be cited, it needs removing. And some of the others; the references to the "lakes" aren't apparent for a non-local, fill out the appropriate lake and wikilink it. The "building" (singular) vs. "row of terraces" (plural) needs clarifying in the second line needs clarifying. If you're able do these corrections, I can double check them one last time (hopefully); and in the mean-time you can also prepare your proposed changes for the next article on its Talk: page and ping me for that one too! Thanks for all your work on this article. However, it's clear that you're actually attempting to write an article on the as-yet-untitled TV show, and are padding the article out with the internal organizational details of the production company. But these details don't belong on Wikipedia, any more than they would for any other TV show.
Following common practice elsewhere in Wikipedia, I suggest we rename the article to "Untitled Amazon motoring show", and refocus the article content accordingly. – Smyth\talk 13:34, 30 December 2015 (UTC)
I would appreciate constructive input on how to make the subject of the W. Chump & Sons even more abundantly clear; in the version I'm looking at there doesn't appear to be any mention of "Amazon" until near the bottom of the article. Per your comment above, I have now prepended a {{split section|Untitled Amazon motoring show}} to the two paragraphs presently in the W. Chump & Sons#Filming section—is this what you had in mind? (Perhaps these six sentences could be enough to get a stub article about an Untitled Amazon motoring show started, and I would encourage somebody else to try, perhaps with the proviso to see WP:CRYSTALBALL first).
