deleted file edit

Hi! The File:Shala-film.jpg was deleted under "F5: Unused non-free media". Some IP removed it from the article Shala (film). Can you bring back the file with all the same history and all or should i just upload a fresh one. Should i upload at same location? §§AnimeshKulkarni (talk) 11:04, 30 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

There have been questions that this is not a legitimate poster - i.e. it's fan made from this source Can you supply a link to the official poster at the film's website? Skier Dude (talk) 22:23, 30 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
Should i pick up one of the posters from their official site from here?. If you wanna do it, take this one. Thats wide spread on net and better known than the other 4. §§AnimeshKulkarni (talk) 09:05, 1 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
Done - see the film page Skier Dude (talk) 02:54, 2 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! Will upload its smaller version. §§AnimeshKulkarni (talk) 07:08, 2 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hey...I have now uploaded the smaller version. But the film's infobox still shows the old picture. Why is that so? §§AnimeshKulkarni (talk) 05:57, 10 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Seal of West Bengal edit

Someone took down the seal of West Bengal you uploaded to the page on Government of West Bengal. After several images, someone just uploaded a copy of a graphic from a web portal, but not the official seal. You seem to be the only person who got it right, but the file was deleted. Can you fix this problem? Bruxism (talk) 02:50, 2 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

There was a challenge to the authenticity of the image at [1] The official page of the West Bengal [2] is down for me, so I can't check to see what is being used. You might get quicker response from someone who can access the site if you pop a listing at WP:Requests for undeletion as I'm at a place where internet access is wonky. "Lost" FfD edit

The FfD for File:Cyberscore.png seems to be... missing? It's not at Wikipedia:Files for deletion/2012 March 22 where it should be, although the notif. on the image's page points there. Here's the original diff. Any ideas? Salvidrim! 18:51, 5 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Don't see it being deleted down the line - just re-listed it at FFD - just strange! :? Skier Dude (talk) 01:37, 6 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
Strange indeeeeeed. I can't really be bothered to look through all the diffs for where it was removed; relisting is probably best. I only noticed but it was weirdly still showing up at WP:VG/AA. :) Salvidrim! 01:42, 6 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for pointing this out. edit

I haven't been on Wikipedia actively for some time now. Feel free to delete the image. I apologize for using it without proper permission. --LILVOKA (talk) 05:06, 15 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Bluewater Bridge at Sunset Pic edit

Hi, there,

This message is for both you, Skier Dude, and Ronhjones. Just was wondering where the photo is located where it's copyrighted. It's interesting to me that you found a copyrighted image of it since my mother-in-law and I snapped the pic from the balcony of a now deceased friend's apartment. All I can think of is that it is very similar to another picture or someone took the picture off of my mother-in-law's website. I never would have claimed it was something I took if I didn't take it. Also, when I do a google search for images of the Bluewater Bridge, the only instance of that photo that comes up is the one that I uploaded. I cannot find the image anywhere else on the web. Rest assured, though, that I won't use it again. There can be only one...TheKurgan (talk) 21:05, 20 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Removing an unnecessary and redundant article edit

Hi I was just curious as to how to remove an article that is unnecessary. This article here King Kong (Toho). Not only is it a poorly written fan article but its already covered in the King Kong page here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_kong#King_Kong_.28Toho.29 Giantdevilfish (talk) 14:01, 24 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

The problem is, is that neither page really gets much discussion. Someone suggested this before on both talk pages and no one commented. The King Kong (Toho) page hardly ever gets any traffic. I really think if the King Kong (Toho) page was removed or "merged" no one would notice or care. Its pointless to have the same article twice, and since the King Kong (Toho) page is full of fan opinions (and misinformation) is it really warranted. The important info is already listed on the King Kong page, and this character doesn't warrant his own page since this is just one version of the King Kong character.Giantdevilfish (talk) 12:14, 25 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
You might try to get some input at WP:WikiProject Fictional characters - WP:WikiProject Film - WP:WikiProject Horror - my instinct is that the Film project will give you some good feedback. Skier Dude (talk) 01:14, 27 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Non-free files missing a rationale edit

Hi. According to Wikipedia:Database reports/Non-free files missing a rationale you have a number of files missing a rationale template. Perhaps you could have a look? It should be easy to find the files if you sort by uploader. --MGA73 (talk) 10:48, 26 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

You realize, of course, that I've worked on continually on image resizing & because of that I will show as the most recent, while in fact, I haven't uploaded any of those. Every one of my personal non-free uploads has a FuR. Skier Dude (talk) 01:09, 27 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for checking the files. History shows that sometimes images on that list gets "mass tagged" leaving the uploaders only 7 days to fix any problems. Even if the files are 1, 2 or 5 years old. I just informed the users with 5 or more files on that list so they could check once they had a few moments(without the 7 day limit). To be honest I did not check the uploads. Sorry about that. --MGA73 (talk) 11:31, 28 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

BIM (magazine) edit

Hello, Skier Dude! You have just deleted an article that I created, ostensibly because a different article of the same name (not by me, and which I have not seen) was also previously deleted. I do believe that this subject merits an entry - can the recent article can be reinstated? Is there something in it that needs to be rewritten? Proscribe (talk) 08:16, 27 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:Ring EXchange - Adventures of a Multiple Marrier by Pam Evans, book cover, May 2012.jpg edit

Hi Skier Dude, Thanks for the heads up on the image. I am trying to get my deleted text file back from Wikipedia so that I can fix the text to Wikipedia standard and then repost it. I will hopefully get that done before the 7 day limit. I have not figured out which of the 161 administrators to contact to get a hold of it. Thanks! /Christian - Byteshield (talkcontribs) 05:24, 30 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
