Hi Shadowvault! Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. Come join other new editors at the Teahouse! The Teahouse is a space where new editors can get help from other new editors. These editors have also just begun editing Wikipedia; they may have had similar experiences as you. Come share your experiences, ask questions, and get advice from your peers. I hope to see you there! Technical 13 (I'm a Teahouse host)

You user page edit

Hello Shadowvault and welcome to the Wikipedia. May I just give you a friendly advise. Since you seem to be fairly young, you should not write your age and personal information on your page. Even if the Wikipedia is a very safe site it is still the Internet so you have to be careful. Also, please read this page: Wikipedia:Guidance for younger editors. It would also be best if you deleted this message after you had read it. All the best, w.carter-Talk 18:40, 3 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hosting at the Teahouse edit

Hi Shadowvault, I'm Jethro, a host at the Teahouse. Thanks for your interest in hosting. I note, however, that you've just started your account on Wikipedia in the last week. Even if you have experience in programming, it's better that you take some time to engage with Wikipedia over the next couple of months, edit some articles, use article talk pages to work with editors, start reading up on our article policies and guidelines (like on what reliable sources are and what Wikipedia is not). I saw your response here to another editor's question, and I don't think it is likely to be helpful to the editor in helping them decide on how to deal with multiple URLs for a single reference. A better answer here would have been that a permanent link to the article simply using its ISBN would have been appropriate. All that said, you are definitely welcome to create a guest profile at the Teahouse and continue using the Q&A board as you have been doing. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a message letting you know that one or more of your recent edits to Ebola virus epidemic in West Africa has been undone by an automated computer program called ClueBot NG.

Customize signatures edit

Hi! I saw your question at the Teahouse. Might this be what you are looking for?

For customizing your signature you will find information at Wikipedia:Signatures#Customizing your signature, there is also this page: Wikipedia:Smurrayinchester's signature tutorial on how it's done and where you can find examples of signatures. When you have entered the new signature at "Preferences → User profile", the four tildes will automatically create the signature when you type them and click on save. January 2015 edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. While we appreciate that you enjoy using Wikipedia, please note that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and not a social network. Wikipedia is not a place to socialize or do things that are not directly related to improving the encyclopedia. Off-topic material may be deleted at any time. We're sorry if this message has discouraged you from editing here, but the ultimate goal of this website is to build an encyclopedia (please see WP:NOT for further details). I decided to send this notification as you haven't made any article edits so far. Most of your edits are user page edits and Teahouse edits. There is nothing wrong with asking questions on the Teahouse but please keep your questions Wikipedia-related. Chamith (talk) 18:33, 23 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
