Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions to the Preston Girls' Secondary College article, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

Feel free to re-submit a new version of the article. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I irrevocably release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later, for use on Wikipedia and elsewhere."

You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here. You can also leave a message on my talk page. - Lucky 6.9 06:28, 4 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Copyright violations edit

I cannot stress this highly enough: Insistence on reposting text from other sources is against copyright law and viewed as vandalism. Please do not continue to do so. Thank you. - Lucky 6.9 06:33, 4 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Nice work edit

Hey Semitic87,

Good job, I'm big fan of those singers you edited, specially Fadl Shaker and Kathem. But I think we should add more information, all I see is the info boxes.

Thats gr8 then ! Actually I am doing some research and I should translate them into english, which i could face some diffucilities. But anyway, we need to co-oprate to make the page usefull and meaningfull. Thanks SeMiTiC

Image:Fadhel shaker.jpg edit

Could you please add the source and fair use rationale to this image. It would also be helpful if you could find a free license image. ← ANAS Talk? 13:18, 18 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Regarding the words of Ibn Qayim edit

Ahlan wa sahlan. We have a discussion regarding the correct translation and the actual meaning of something written by Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya. We might need an opinion from some native arabic speakers in order to reach consensus. If this caught your interest, feel free to join our discussion at Talk:Hadith of Sabra reporting on the prohibition of Mut'ah. Thank you. Hamid-Masri 11:25, 18 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Fadhel shaker.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Fadhel shaker.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 08:08, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Libyan placenames edit

I'm working on a standard (and official) system to transliterate (and retrotransliterate) Arabic script into my native language (applyable also for Spanish and Portuguese with some changes) and I'm nowadays trying to apply it in toponimic names for a publication, so I've chosen Libyan names first. The system has already been published and can be seen here, section 5.2. I've seen some inconsistencies in the name (transliteration) of some shabiyas of Libya (some articles give one transcription, some others give one different) in the articles of Wikipedia and its sources (mainly articles Districts of Libya and List of FIPS region codes (J-L)#LY: Libya, and sources for ISO 3166-2:LY here and here and statoids.com; if needed I can provide the differences in sources leading to confusion), and ask for help from a native speaker of Arabic to clear some doubts. Can you help me?

Problems are mainly concerning the unmarked harakaat for long vowels in the Standard Arabic version of the placename, and are the following:

1 الجفارة 'al-jifaaraº 'al-jafaaraº vowel of first syllable after article (or none?) Al Jfara
2 النقاط الخمس 'al-nuqaat. 'al-Hams 'al-niqaat. 'al-Hams vowel of first syllable after article An Nuqat al Khams
3 سرت sirt surt vowel of first syllable Surt
4 ترهونة و مسلاته msalaataº masallaataº vowel of first syllable (of third word) Tarhuna Wa Msalata
5 المرقب 'al-murqub 'al-marqab vowel of first and second syllables Al Murgub
6 مرزق murSuq marSuq / murSaq vowel of first and second syllables Murzuq
7 يفرن yafran yifrin vowel of first and second syllables Yafran
8 غريان Rarii'aan Rarii'aan / Rariyaan / Raryaan vowels of second and third syllables Gharyan
9 سوفاجين‎ sawfaajjiin sawfajjiin length of vowel for consonant "f" Sawfajjin
10 زلتان‎ Slitan Slitaan length of vowel for consonant "t" Zlitan
11 القبة 'al-qubaº 'al-qubbaº gemination (shadda) of "b" or not? Al Qubah
12 الواحات 'al-waaKhaaº 'al-waaKhaat last consonant: h, t or ta marbutah? Al Wahat
13 مرادة marad maradah structure of third syllable: ta marbutah? Maradah
14 مصراتة mis.(u)raatah mus.(u)raatah vowel of first syllable after article and last consonant: h, t or ta marbutah? Misratah

I am committed to upload the publication of the final article, if released, the same way I did with the previous one. Please check in my talk page if this is already answered.   Sobreira (parlez) 15:26, 18 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Majid Al Muhandis edit

The article Majid Al Muhandis has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
