Welcome!

edit

Hello, ScottBB321, and welcome to Wikipedia! This is one of the most popular websites in the world, and it's only through the contributions of editors like you. And Wikipedia is not just a collection of articles, it's an active community. The real fun here is contributing to Wikipedia, but don't feel hurt if some of your first few edits get removed, as there are some central guidelines you may not be familiar with.

Some good advice: be bold in your editing, and use the talk pages to discuss with other editors. Be kind to others, because there's a lot you can learn from them, and there's lots they can help you with.

There's lots of resources to help you become a great editor, from our basic introduction to our in-depth manual. But if you have any questions or problems, no matter what they are, leave me a message on my talk page or place {{helpme}} on this page to get any help you need. If you haven't done so, tell us a bit about yourself. Oh, and please sign your name on talk pages and votes by typing ~~~~; our software automatically converts it to your username and the date.

It's nice to see someone else who likes aloes.

Glad you're here! Ilzolende (talk) 15:20, 30 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi Ilzolende!
A fellow Aloe liker! Fantastic! One of my goals is to create a page for every Aloe species. Luckily, someone has created the 'List of Aloe species' page with most all the known ones already. Unfortunately less then 20% have their own page. So, that my self assigned project.
I'll try the talk feature. Thanks! I noticed some edits of my work and I've learned about what I did wrong by seeing the changes. It would be nice though, if the editors would have left a message explaining what I did wrong as I did the same thing on every page I created. Maybe that will happen if I use the talk pages? I'm very new to editing Wikipedia pages and I have a lot to learn about the process. I couldn't even find my back to the help page with my first posted question because it was on Wikimedia commons. Lol
The edits were nothing major. I just included the complete name if the 'authority' of the plant species. Looks like the norm is first name initial with the last name or last name only. I was including the full name and they all got edited. Live and learn!
Thanks Again! ScottBB321 (talk) 21:17, 30 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

General Jeff Page moved to draftspace

edit

Thanks for creating General Jeff Page. Unfortunately, it is not ready for publishing because it needs more sources to establish notability and I had to remove a bunch of the article due to it being unreliably sourced. Your article is now a draft where you can improve it undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 03:52, 8 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
