Krillin

"Taikyoken"? I thought it was supposed to be "Taiyoken". Am I missing something? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 14:25, 6 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

I'm not certain where that came from. But just change it. Sarujo (talk) 14:50, 6 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
Sure, but to which variant of the spelling do I change it to and what's the nihongo? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 15:04, 6 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
Ok, here are all the attacks. Kamehameha (かめはめ波, Turtle Striking Wave),Kienzan (気円斬, Energy Circle Razor, Renamed Destructo Disc in English dub), Taiyōken (太陽拳, Solar Fist, Renamed Solar Flare), Double Kihō (ダブル気砲, Double Air Gun), Kakusandan (拡散弾, Spread Bullet), and Bukū-jutsu (舞空術, Air Dance Technique). Sarujo (talk) 16:35, 6 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. I'll get to updating it soon ;) Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 17:11, 6 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
Got all but Double Kihō (ダブル気砲, Double Air Gun) and Bukū-jutsu (舞空術, Air Dance Technique) done. Mind of I leave those to you? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 23:24, 6 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Dragon Ball GT

edit

How would you ref DBGT episodes? Been wanting to do so in Son Goku (Dragon Ball)#Plot overview. I know it's with {{cite episode}}, however, I do not know how the title is supposed to be presented. Should it be with the nihongo in parenthesis or something? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 23:48, 6 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

I've just been using the English translated titles. Sarujo (talk) 09:23, 7 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Son Gohan

edit

Um, is this true? Just wanna be sure. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 22:03, 16 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hmmm, it was my understanding that Vegetto was the strongest Saiyan, and Oob was the strongest of them all. But either way it should be removed unless the source that state he's stronger that Goten also call points out his abilities surpass Goku and Vegeta. Sarujo (talk) 00:11, 17 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Son Goku part 2

Just thought I'd pass this along. Wonder where it can be placed music or reception? Sarujo (talk) 00:31, 1 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Trunks part 3

edit

It begins again. The talk page has received it's first protestor since the merger. So I gave my rebutal to the IP, then I added a stop sign template at the top of the page. But that might not work to detour other potential protesters. Sarujo (talk) 08:30, 25 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

List of Dragon Ball Kai episodes

edit

Hi, I noticed through a search in userspace that you're working on one. Care to join forces? Here is what I have so far. -- Goodraise (talk) 23:18, 20 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sure, why not. Sarujo (talk) 23:24, 20 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
I've gone ahead and merged our two versions into this. (Please feel invited to edit that page from now on.) It's almost ready to be moved to article namespace and to be nominated at Wikipedia:Did you know, but I noticed a few things I can't fix myself: Three of your citations used {{cite news}}. I suspect that these "news" come from some kind of magazine, so I changed the citation templates to {{cite journal}}. However, two of the citations don't give the journals' names. Are those from V Jump as well? Also, the titles should not be translated. Could you add the kanji titles of those articles? BTW, don't mind that image notice further down on this page. I think we'll have the article in mainspace within those seven days. Cheers, -- Goodraise (talk) 19:23, 26 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
At the time I wasn't aware that titles in other languages was not suppose to be translated. As for the missing names, I thought I added them in at the time but I guess I might overlooked something. But some of that information was from looking at scans which I think came from both V and Shonen Jump magazines. I don't think I can produce the proper text to accommodate the words. Although I have the character map, it would take a lifetime just hunt down one Kanji. I've it before, it's like looking for a needle in haystack. Sarujo (talk) 02:11, 27 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
Have you tried this tool yet? It makes identifying kanjis easy. -- Goodraise (talk) 02:25, 27 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
That Kanji finder page really help me out in half the time. Thanks for pointing it out for me. As you can see I updated the references with their appropriate Japanese text, filled in the journal sections with the correct publication, Shonen Jump. Is there anything else needed before the move?
It's fine as far as I can tell, but it would be good if we could come up with one or two DYK hooks before moving. To do that we may need to slightly reorganize the lead. I'm not sure though. I never nominated a DYK before. -- Goodraise (talk) 17:20, 28 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
Moved it to article space and nominated it for DYK. If you have another idea for a hook go ahead and add it, but I think I got everything useful covered. -- Goodraise (talk) 02:50, 29 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Mister Satan

edit

I just learned that in a resent interview in the latest Dragon Ball source book Toriyama revealed that Mister Satan's given name is Mark. Now I don't really know if this part was the case but the name writen in Katakana マーク (Māku), when rearanged becomes an anagram for Akuma, a word for devil. I just know that if I add this character development to his section, everybody's going to remove it on the grounds that they think it's a load of crap. Even if I add a reference. The flack I'm getting with the timeline's three digit years. What do you think? Sarujo (talk) 02:36, 22 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Well, apparently I can know for certain it was the case as Toriyama confirms in the book that it's a Japanese-to-English pun on the word Akuma. Sarujo (talk) 03:01, 22 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

I don't get something. If you know the source, why didn't you ref that? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 22:49, 22 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
I usually bring it up first before I add it. I don't have the book right now, so I don't know what chapter, if there are any, or page number are right now.
As I stated with the timeline, whenever I add something to the mix, whether it be sourced or not, people remove it. And as Mark is a very common name in the English speaking work, people will find the information too far fetched for the Dragon Ball lexicon. Despite the source that backs it up is used. Such as IP 99.207.43.1 calling the Daizenshus a "bad source". Also after I posted the message above, I saw on my watchlist where Collectonian removed this information stating "npot properly sourced and really just trivia". How does character development constitute as a trivial matter? Sarujo (talk) 02:43, 23 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
No clue. Maybe you could ask her? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 22:42, 23 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Dr. Slump

edit

I'm wondering if this is true. I haven't checked ANN, and even if it does say the same thing I wouldn't use it as a reliable source. Thoughts? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 23:06, 24 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure myself. As a child of the eighties alot of shows managed to slip under the radar for me. If you'd asked me about Harmony Gold's Dragon Ball dub back in 99. I would have said, "There was an English dub of Dragon Ball back then?!". So if there was one of Dr. Slump that far back, I missed it. But still the entry seems contridicts itself on one count.
"The first episode of the anime was adapted into English by Harmony Gold USA in 1984. But the pilot was never picked up, and since then, it is unknown when or if it will ever be dubbed into English."
First it states that first episode was fixed up as a pilot. Then states that it's unknown if it will ever be dubbed. Like this pilot's diologue wasn't in English. But if was made into a pilot, then logic should dictate that an English dub was attempted at some point, allegedly. But unless the ANN has more information to provide on the pilot, then there's no need to add it to the article. There are way too many articles with unsourced mentions of pilots in their development sections. It gets anoying, when the article on your favorite show talks about a pilot and how things were so radically different then in actual series. Making you want to see it, but yet you have no way of doing so. Sarujo (talk) 23:46, 24 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Son Goku in other media‎

edit

I have reverted your splitting of the "in media" section of Son Goku (Dragon Ball)‎. There doesn't appear to be any need to do such a split, nor is it really an appropriate split to make. Very very very few fictional characters warrant a separate "in media" article, and most just end up at AfD and merged back to their original article. If you feel the in media section in Son Goku is too long, I'd suggest seeing first how it can be cut down as it is too detailed, IMHO, and far too fractured into too many little subsections. I suspect the reception section could also be expanded to better balance the sections of the article. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 04:33, 4 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

The fraturing with subsections, was to help better organize the entire section. Over time those subsections should fill out.

Changes

edit

As you already know, I went and expanded on both Krillin and Infinite World in the hopes to save them but I don't know. DBZRocks really want Infinite World to be merged. And after all that hard work I put into it. I can understand if the article has almost nothing, but it now contains a development and reception section. Rocks also states that that the gameplay is too simular, but alot of video games after Budokai have simular elements. Yet they also state that the development was what really mattered. But it was my understanding that the reception was what allowed an article as such survive. With that said, I've manged to throw in what I could for now with Krillin. In the hopes that, that article will survive this proposal. Maybe I should have done it sooner. :( Sarujo (talk) 00:47, 23 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Infinite World

edit

I have gone ahead and merged the Budokai articles, including Infinite World. I know that you were a strong supporter of it staying unmerged. I would like to ask however, before reverting my edits, that we could have a civilized disucussion at the series article talk page. DBZROCKSIts over 9000!!! 20:32, 28 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Just a quick shout

edit

Make sure to check the reliability of sources used. Noticed DBZ Infinite World uses some like Cheat Code Central, which might be a hangup if you pursue GAN. Keeping an eye on WP:VG/S can help, but if possible try to verify the legitimacy of the author making the review if you can't the website. I rated it C-class, with some refinement and a little more expansion you should be able to get B- then GA-class pretty smoothly. Good luck!--Kung Fu Man (talk) 10:48, 29 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Replacement of images

edit

The image you posted on Johnny Test is seen on the Johnny Test Wiki. Images like that provide information that is UNENCYCLOPEDIC by any means.

Please stop being a SCHMUCK and leave the article alone. It's clear you have no idea what you're doing, so pleas stop trying.

Emmanuel A. Asiegbu (talk) 22:14, 3 October 2009 (UTC)Warmpuppy2 (talk) 5:14 pm, 03 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Name calling and shouting words gets a person nowhere. And for your information I knew exactly what I was doing. Posting an image that includes a broader range of the cast is not unencylopedic. There are no rules against it. Just because it's seen on another Wiki or Wikia does not bar it from Wikipedia. Sarujo (talk) 23:51, 3 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

I am deeply sorry, and now I admit that I shouldn't have called you a schmuck.

Johnny Test character list

edit

Now, I will say this once, and only once: Things you get from the Johnny Test Wiki on Wikia.com are NOT encyclopedic by any means. The image you saw was on the Johnny Test Wiki and will remain there ONLY.

The reasons you think it belongs on Wikipedia are:

  • Some appear in FEW episodes (emphasis on FEW)
  • There are MORE than 4 main characters, which is far from the truth.

Well, there you have it. You can post the image whenever you want, but that's because you don't see the characters listed in some episodes. And that's because they aren't part of the main character list.

Thank you. Next time, please consider your actions. 22:05, 9 October 2009 (UTC)Warmpuppy2 (talk) 5:04 pm, 9 October 2009 (UTC)

Adoption

edit

Hello Sarujo,

I saw you were looking into adoption! I'd like to offer myself to help you out! Being an experienced editor, with several successful articles and many edits, I thought I would be a good choice! I love to work with new users; they have so much potential! I know how it feels to be a newbie in the ever so confusing Wikipedia. I'm working on a New Users program and I would be so happy to work with you. Before you accept, you might want to look over the adoption guidelines and understand:

  • Forever. Once experienced, an Adoptee will be able to graduate, though likely to stay in touch with their Adopter.
  • A social club. Though fun, Adoption is there to help users use and improve Wikipedia.
  • Just for the newest of users. It is also for users with limited experience who want to expand their involvement.
  • A shield. Adoptees remain solely responsible for their behavior.

There are many benefits to adoption and I'm glad you'd like to get involved. If you're interested, please drop me a line!

Thank you, iBen (talk) 22:05, 25 February 2010 (UTC) --iBen (talk) 22:05, 25 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yes I am interested. Can't wait to get started. Sarujo (talk) 22:46, 25 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
Glad to help! Seems like you're decently experienced, however, want to touch up on some stuff. How can I get you started? ANy questions, things you're not sure about, etc.?--iBen (talk) 01:13, 26 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Lets start with something simple, responses from other editor on what might be hot button issues if escalate. You try to make drastic changes to an article or template that you believe can help greatly, it gets removed several times, and you're instructed to "take it to discussion". You try to start a discussion in the corresponding article and project talk pages. Yet you get no response. What can be done, and does a sudden silence from other opposing parties always symbolize a consensus on your polite argument on said issue? Sarujo (talk) 02:05, 26 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Mind if I move this over to my talk page? It would be easier for me to get to it. --iBen (talk) 05:39, 26 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
