Welcome edit

Hello, SamShearon! Welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. You may benefit from following some of the links below, which will help you get the most out of Wikipedia. If you have any questions you can ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Please remember to sign your name on talk pages by clicking   or by typing four tildes "~~~~"; this will automatically produce your name and the date.   You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.

Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.

If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. 98.248.33.198 (talk) 01:42, 10 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sam Shearon edit

I've removed the Twitter/Facebook/Myspace external links from this article. Please see guidelines for external links at WP:ELNO. 'Official' website guidelines are at WP:ELOFFICIAL, the first website listing is fine and was retained. By the way, creating and editing an autobiography is strongly discouraged at Wikipedia, please see guidelines WP:AUTOBIO. Chuckiesdad/Talk/Contribs 14:48, 10 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yep, again, please don't edit your own Wikipedia page directly, unless it's to remove obvious vandalism. If you think something needs adding, put it on the talk page and someone else will look into doing it for you. --McGeddon (talk) 17:27, 19 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Photograph of Sam Shearon in 2013.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Photograph of Sam Shearon in 2013.jpg, which you've attributed to https://www.facebook.com/MisterSamShearon/photos/a.470054631534.282501.109017416534/10152481449731535/?type=3&src=https%3A%2F%2Fscontent-b-lhr.xx.fbcdn.net%2Fhphotos-xpa1%2Ft31.0-8%2F10272691_10152481449731535_5076502957987428386_o.jpg&smallsrc=https%3A%2F%2Fscontent-b-lhr.xx.fbcdn.net%2Fhphotos-xfp1%2Fv%2Ft1.0-9%2F10155161_10152481449731535_5076502957987428386_n.jpg%3Foh%3Dd4d3453f715fcd339ce55957b054b3a2%26oe%3D55050B07&size=760%2C1062&fbid=10152481449731535. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ronhjones  (Talk) 20:39, 25 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
