Thanks for reviewing my article! I made changes and was able to publish a different variation of it, with more thorough citations and enough list entries to prove it is notable (I certainly think so.)

Deletion discussion about List of White Male Authors with Critically Acclaimed Novels Over 500 Pages edit

Hello, Rreizman,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether List of White Male Authors with Critically Acclaimed Novels Over 500 Pages should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of White Male Authors with Critically Acclaimed Novels Over 500 Pages .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks, Guerillero | Parlez Moi 23:34, 8 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Advice edit

I think you are taking the deletion discussion the wrong way. We are not saying that the topic is unimportant. I think the topic would make a very interesting academic journal article, magazine article or blog post. I would read it myself. However, Wikipedia does not publish original research or thoughts nor does it publish the types of synthesis your userpage looks like you are used to working with. If you like allusions to Greek myth, Wikipedia is Clio on her Chariot recording history and what the consensus is not what is on the bleeding edge of a particular field. You would be right to say that this comes at a price but it is one we have paid for over a decade. --Guerillero | Parlez Moi 04:38, 9 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

  • Thank you for the advice! I understand what you are saying, but I still believe in what I am saying. The list I created points to an objective fact, and is based on winners, nominations, longlists and shortlists from people completely unrelated to me. The citations can be improved, some even linked back to other, verified wikipedia articles. The matter of original research is quite valid, but when one presents indisputable information with what could be hundreds of points of data, yet is still told there is no notability, it looks like there is a bigger issue at play. If anything, research was done to reaffirm common knowledge, a result of some strange social media gaslighting.

Your recent edits edit

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 19:14, 9 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
