Hi, Rraspberry, and welcome to Wikipedia! I reverted your change to the Ruth Johnson article, and I wanted to explain why. While the general topic you added might have a place somewhere in the article, it was far too much for the lede, which is supposed to be a relatively brief summary of the article. That material might fit (depending on how much reliable sources discuss it) somewhere else in the article, but no more than a sentence, if even that, in the lede.

Also, while I didn't read the entire addition, I saw enough to question its neutrality; words like "thankfully", for example, generally dont have much of a place in the encyclopedic tone we strive for.

Nevertheless, thanks for trying to improve Wikipedia! Sorry for the rough introduction, but it's just how things go, and we tend to be extra-cautious around the biographies of living people as a rule (for hopefully obvious reasons). I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have. Good luck! Writ Keeper  06:19, 11 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), such as at WP:MCQ#upload of public state form (such as a change of name form for the state of Michigan, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
