Speedy deletion nomination of Bumpbows

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Bumpbows, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hi, thanks for message. I deleted your article because

  • it did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the company, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the company claims or interviewing its management. You gave three refs which were respectively a press release, your own page and a sales site. None of these is an independent third party source. You are correct about the social media too, the only external link should be your main company page
  • I can see no evidence that the product is notable, such as sales figures, company profits or turnover, or numbers of staff. You don't even tell us where the company headquarters are, although I note that you use British English spelling.
  • it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. You are right that anything that looks like an opinion rather than a fact, such as "beautiful", is promotional, and the "styles and colours" is unhelpful
  • You have an obvious conflict of interest when editing this article, and you must declare it. If you work for or on behalf of the company, you are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:RoundupResistance. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=RoundupResistance|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. Please do not edit further until you answer this message.

I have to say that I have grave doubts whether this product or the company meet our notability criteria. Your text gives the impression that it's a tiny business with a handful of employees and small-scale production. If that's not the case, you need good independent references to confirm the facts.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Per H:L, this change you made to PC Card was unnecessary. Both forms are correct and neither is deprecated. That the [[A]]b form (links to A but appears in the text as Ab) works is, I believe, a relatively recent change. Jeh (talk) 14:44, 16 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading File:Shopkins Funny Sweet.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
