Re Dorset edit

Hello Rossoh, thanks for taking an interest in the Dorset article. Unfortunately I have felt the need to revert your edits because the 741mm of rainfall refers to the average across Dorset and the 730mm quoted is from the Weymouth weather station. Your second edit, which refers to Portland as a tied island is disputed because tied islands are connected by tombolos and it is now thought that Chesil is a Barrier beach. The Dorset article is a Featured article and therefore particular care needs to be taken as to what changes are made to it. Sometimes it is a good idea to initiate a discussion on the talk page if you have a disagreement. I hope you enjoy being a Wikipedian and stick around. Sometimes you will need broad shoulders but most of the time it is fun. Best regards--Ykraps (talk) 10:01, 29 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

February 2014 edit

With reference to your recent revert of my edit to the Chesil Cove article, you have misread the WP:MOSNUM guidelines. Under heading "Which units to use", you will see that imp measurements should be used first and then metric conversion. The Weymouth article should also follow this guideline. As far as I am aware, no road signs or maps in the UK quote metric first. Before you revert please check exactly what WP:MOSNUM reads. Thank you, David J Johnson (talk) 14:14, 12 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Ah, thank you for that David, I did not notice the exceptions under UK non-engineering articles. Perhaps that could be made clearer. I understand that now as miles for long distances, metres for other measurements, except personal heights. WRT the Weymouth article, there the consistent use of SI had been long decided when it became FA, if you look at the history/talk – as note 9 says, as this is an accepted long-stable version, that should remain. Incidentally, the UK has km signs on national trails, some pedestrian signs, and the small blue location signs (the ones you quote when you break down) on the side of all motorways. Apologies for the misunderstanding, and thanks for the clarification! Rossoh (talk) 14:52, 12 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
Many thanks and best regards, David, David J Johnson (talk) 18:07, 12 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

LGBT rights in x articles edit

Can you give me a reason why you reverted the neutral term 'public promotion of LGBT issues' and added the liberally biased term 'Pride parade'? The term 'Pride parade' is not a WP:NPOV. – Plarem (User talk) 09:58, 22 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Pride parade is NPOV because that is what they are called. See the NPOV article, and all pride articles. Your suggestion is biased. If you cannot see this, I suggest it would be good to take up the issue somewhere more central, where many contributors to LGBT articles can discuss, such as Portal:LGBT. Rossoh (talk) 10:19, 22 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
Hi, I see that you are involved in the dispute over using public promotion of LGBT issues term, in several articles, so maybe you should see Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard#Talk:LGBT rights in Croatia#'Public promotion of LGBT issues' bias.
