Speedy deletion nomination of Roboteam

edit

Hello Robobotics,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Roboteam for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons. For more details please see the notice on the article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Roboteam. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion, which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 13:15, 12 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

There have been two problems identified with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 14:34, 12 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Requested username:

Request reason:

I am not doing this for promotional puposes but for informational purposes, I will go over the article and edit accordingly, the purpose of the article is to probide information and definition just like other companies have on wikipedia

Decline reason:

If you don't understand why your edits violated WP:PROMO, there's no reason to unblock you. Additionally, clear violations of WP:COI and WP:PAID. Yamla (talk) 14:43, 12 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

I didn't say I don't understand, I said I will go over it and change it and also offered a name change and explained the purpose of the article which will be refined in the next edit.

As the person who commented earlier(I am not an administrator), I would say that "informational purposes" is still a form of promotion; Wikipedia article must do more than provide information, they must indicate notability with independent reliable sources. It is also problematic for you to edit about your own business; that is a conflict of interest(please review that page)
Other stuff exists, and the fact that other companies have pages on Wikipedia does not automatically mean yours merits one as well, each page is judged on its own merits. 331dot (talk) 15:02, 12 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
