Saving the Naijatastic article

Hello Reading Beans, good morning! Regarding the Naijatastic article, I found something useful on The Guardian Nigeria, Nigerian Tribune and This Day that could be added as citations for the article. Would this not be enough to save the article from AfD? Here are the links; [ this ] from This Day, [ this ] from Nigerian Tribune, and [ this ] from Guardian Nigeria. They are obviously press releases though, but might be able to save the article.

If you think they will, then I might change my !vote on the AfD, lol, I just hate seeing Nigerian topics being deleted. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 13:39, 30 August 2023 (UTC)

@Vanderwaalforces, please read, Wikipedia's guideline on organisations. Having read that, do you think we need press releases to keep an article? Johnel is a paid job; sooner or later, someone will nominate it for deletion (like I have before) and it will be deleted again. I don’t like seeing Nigerian articles being deleted but paid jobs is a no, no. So, no, I won't withdraw my nomination per the paid press releases found. Best, Reading Beans (talk) 19:10, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
Yeah, I get your point. I had WP:NORG in mind already. That means my !vote stands. Thank you! Vanderwaalforces (talk) 19:16, 30 August 2023 (UTC)

Abudu and Edo Broadcasting Service

Hi Reading Beans, I have these drafts ready for review; User:Vanderwaalforces/Edo Broadcasting Service and User:Vanderwaalforces/Abudu. Do take a look. Regards. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 18:38, 30 August 2023 (UTC)

@Vanderwaalforces, I will move it to Draft:Edo Broadcasting Service. ALWAYS create on draft space not user space i.e User: Vanderwaalforces/page title rather it is Draft:page title, mhm? Best, Reading Beans (talk) 19:20, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
Eh! I forget to move it. Okay, thanks! Vanderwaalforces (talk) 19:27, 30 August 2023 (UTC)

I hope you come back as soon as possible though. I am finding it hard to say 'Happy Wikibreak' becos no be better one. Either ways, happy wikibreak! Vanderwaalforces (talk) 16:55, 6 September 2023 (UTC)

@Vanderwaalforces, I’m back like I was not gone. I use my phone to hotspot my laptop, so, if my phone spoils, then, no Wikipeding for me. Stay cool! Best, Reading Beans (talk) 17:13, 7 September 2023 (UTC)
Oh dear! I have missed you so much!!! I am screaming as a matter of fact!!! Welcome back. It's as if it's been weeks you left. I'm so happy.
I will list the pages I have managed to create since you left so that you can review them. Some are still pending review. Regards! Vanderwaalforces (talk) 17:18, 7 September 2023 (UTC)
I'll be waiting. Reading Beans (talk) 17:28, 7 September 2023 (UTC)

Pages pending review (probably)

These are the mainspace ones
Just one draft that is ready for review

Vanderwaalforces (talk) 17:33, 7 September 2023 (UTC)

Nice work so far. The load on reviewing of new articles has been hectic and as much as I love writing, someone has to do the reviewing. Thank you for helping in creating articles about Nigeria. I am grateful, Melody, Princess of Ara, all of us are grateful! Keep up the good work. Best, Reading Beans (talk) 17:55, 7 September 2023 (UTC)
It's also my pleasure, you know. I have come to know a lot of things too, things I had no idea about, researching for sources made me know little histories and the likes. I will keep up. Many thanks to all of you for your dedication too :) Vanderwaalforces (talk) 18:01, 7 September 2023 (UTC)

Draft: Cameron Driggers

Hello there,

I noticed you deleted my article on Cameron Driggers after it was published. As this is a research project, could you expand on why you did that and how I can improve it for its second review? I have resubmitted it, and also retagged the article since you deleted them. Thanks! Mrwriter2.0 (talk) 18:00, 7 September 2023 (UTC)

@Mrwriter2.0, did you forget to log in as Mrwriter2023? Anyways, I moved it to draftspace because of sourcing issues. Most sources does not verify the statement and MOST sentences are attributed to any source. Please, read Wikipedia’s policy on biography of living persons. Best, Reading Beans (talk) 18:10, 7 September 2023 (UTC)
I forgot my password ):, hence the 2.0 LOL. Anyways, I'm not sure I understand your critique, do you mind flagging specific instances of unsourced statements? I would think that if "most sources do not verify the statement", then I would have been notified of that during the first submission which was accepted. Mrwriter2.0 (talk) 18:19, 7 September 2023 (UTC)

Draft:A10 highway (Nigeria)

Good Article?

Hi Reading Beans, I was thinking, after looking at the criteria for good article, is the Benin Moat article not qualified? Do you think it can pass the review? Vanderwaalforces (talk) 16:36, 8 September 2023 (UTC)

@Vanderwaalforces, yeah. You should nominate it for GA review. Unfortunately, I don’t review, but, in my view, it has met the criteria. Kudos! Reading Beans (talk) 21:00, 8 September 2023 (UTC)
Alright. Many thanks. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 22:26, 8 September 2023 (UTC)

Ekpa depicted

Idk if you looked at it at the time, but there's some history:[1][2]. I don't remember seeing this particular pic before, though. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 08:24, 9 September 2023 (UTC)

@Gråbergs Gråa Sång, Biafra in Exile and all the puppets are affiliated and they have a close connection with Simon Ekpa. The image on Flickr is uploaded by them to avoid conflict of interest. I think it is Flickr washing, because the image EXIF seems to be tampered with. So, my two cents. (PS: Licensed is probably 1st Contributor or a meat-puppet.) Best, Reading Beans (talk) 09:13, 9 September 2023 (UTC)
That's my worry too, but if the flickr-uploader actually is Ekpa or someone close to him who took the picture, we could use it. Oh well. I told one of the puppets about flickr at some point, and it seems they concluded from that "A-HA. I can flickrwash!" Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 09:24, 9 September 2023 (UTC)
Btw, "Biafra Republic Government in Exile" is afaict "Ekpa's website" for WP-purposes, I've seen no good secondary coverage on it. Possibly some sort of splintergroup from that other org he was with, or more or less imaginary, I can't tell. However, WP:s definition of Government in Exile is "a political group that claims to be a country or semi-sovereign state's legitimate government" so technically, it fits. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 09:32, 9 September 2023 (UTC)
I also think that the image could be used pending till someone claims to be the copyright owner (ain’t happening though). The government in exile fits but per BLP, should it be included? Without reliable secondary sources to back it up? Just wondering. Best, Reading Beans (talk) 09:54, 9 September 2023 (UTC)
I think it's at least mentioned in some hopefully not-awful secondary sources, but the way it's presented needs watching, taking the name "Biafra Republic Government in Exile" was a bit clever. But that's a discussion for article-talk. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 10:11, 9 September 2023 (UTC)
Btw, if this pic appears on Commons, I may start a deletion discussion on it. We'll see. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 10:40, 9 September 2023 (UTC)

Concern regarding Peterson Okopi

Hello, thank you so much for your wonderful job here on Wikipedia. I admire your tenacity and consistence.

An article, I created was moved to draft for lack of notability. I am really surprised though. He is really notable and has produced several hit songs in the Nigerian gospel music scene. Also, stating that a person is too early to get a Wikipedia profile sounds a bit strange especially when they meet notability requirements. An example is Hilda Bacci; a biography was created just almost immediately after her record feat. I recall being a major contributor as well. On Wikipedia, there are several subjects with less than 6 references, some of which you have reviewed and even moved to the mainspace yourself. Also, the article was reviewed by another administrator as well. It really saddens me when I see other Nigerian editors tag or move notable articles because they “don’t know them enough” when all requirements are clearly met. Also, accusing me of a conflict in interest is heartbreaking. I dedicate my time and energy in contributing to Wikipedia. Actually, one of my major goals is making sure that notable Nigerian topics especially music-related get its flowers. For me, creating notable articles (biographies) and seeing it stay is just what I love doing. It’s funny but I have a weird habit of making lists of articles I’d like to create. Whatever I do is voluntary and with a strong sense of passion. I hope I am not misunderstood or falsely accused in the wrong run. For emphasis, on this space, my specialty is creating notable biographies. I’d appreciate if you can take out some time to properly explain why the article was moved and what you mean by “too early”. Cheers! Mevoelo (talk) 04:22, 31 August 2023 (UTC)

@Mevoelo, everything I did was done in good faith. Having a conflict of interest is not bad, you just have to declare it. Stuffing articles with excessive unreliable citations is a thing—and that is what you did, perhaps, unknown to you. Blogs like City Celeb and YabaLeft, et cetera is a no no on Wikipedia, see a list of Nigerian reliable sources here. You might argue that The Punch, Nigerian Tribune and others are present but, are they independent and in-depth? Interviews and press releases cannot be used to establish notability. Unfortunately, these are the only thing you have in your article. I hope this helps. Best, Reading Beans (talk) 07:40, 31 August 2023 (UTC)
Many thanks for expressing your concern. However, the article does not have stuff of press releases or interviews? A few of them were added as secondary sources to verify some information added. I could remove them though. There are also other reliable sources like Step FW UK Christian Chart, news releases on awards/nominations, CLIMA Awards list? So are you implying that interviews can NOT (in any case) be used among a myriad of references? I’m asking because I can make reference to several articles that include interviews (Nicki Minaj, Davido, Burna Boy etc). In my opinion, it is disheartening when notable subjects are undermined for reasons that has been severally overlooked for other more notable subjects by Nigerian editors. Also, his awards and nominations are well sourced — also showing notability. Just to add, when it was first moved to draft — I made a few more research and added more references. I’m stating this so you won’t feel I re-moved the article without doing any work. To reemphasize, I have no conflict of interest with the subject. If that is the case, I would openly declare it. I also think it those list of reliable sources is not all encompassing. There are many more reliable sources on the net that are even more reliable than the ones stated there. I have no intention to argue further or make this an issue. But I just deemed it necessary to get more clarifications. Once again, thank you for your time. Don’t also forget that you’re all the same amazing. Cheers! Mevoelo (talk) 08:03, 31 August 2023 (UTC)
@Mevoelo, firstly, you can add a website/magazine/newspaper you think is reliable to the table. Be bold. Interviews and press release can be used to a reference but not as a waymark for establishing notability; just like press release. In the award and nomination category, none of awards won are notable. What is CLIMA? Just like I explained on your talk page, this is too soon. Allow his notability to mature. Mhm? We’re all doing a collaborative work! Best, Reading Beans (talk) 09:08, 31 August 2023 (UTC)
thanks for the clarification. I appreciate with you. With love, Mevoelo (talk) 10:01, 31 August 2023 (UTC)
@Mevoelo, just wanted to know. How do you do? Reading Beans (talk) 10:05, 12 September 2023 (UTC)
I’m alright. I hope you’re good as well? Thanks for the great job you’re doing. I really admire you. Cheers! Mevoelo (talk) 20:05, 12 September 2023 (UTC)

Redirecting without consulting

Please do not take it upon yourself to redirect articles without initiating an appropriate discussion on the articles talk page — or associated nomination discussion. (Referring to Nick Lieberman redirect. 4theloveofallthings (talk) 13:57, 13 September 2023 (UTC)

Great! So, during NPP, I should consult you before redirecting a non-notable topic? Because you are the creator. Does this mean you own the article? Best, Reading Beans (talk) 14:00, 13 September 2023 (UTC)
Reading Beans: Absolutely not! And I completely see your point. However, I was preferring to let this one remain a stub because I was almost certain people would join in contributing other information about the subject — which is readily available. I am certainly not distressed by the redirect of an article I created, but I found this redirect to be premature as there are plenty of good sources out there full of information on the subject.
perhaps I can have a day to fix it up, if not return to redirect? If that is alright. 4theloveofallthings (talk) 14:23, 13 September 2023 (UTC)
@4theloveofallthings, with all pleasure. If you can find more sources, then, sure. A day or two is fine. Best, Reading Beans (talk) 14:25, 13 September 2023 (UTC)
Thank you! Much appreciated. 4theloveofallthings (talk) 14:26, 13 September 2023 (UTC)

No target errors in Igbo literature

Hi Reading Beans. You added references to "Igwe & Obiakor 2015" and "Oraka 1987" to Igbo literature, but neither are defined in the article. Could you add the required cites to the References section, or let me know which works these refer to? -- LCU ActivelyDisinterested transmissions °co-ords° 15:59, 14 September 2023 (UTC)

@ActivelyDisinterested, the references have been added and the year corrected. Thank you for pointing it out. But, you can check if has been fixed now. Best, Reading Beans (talk) 19:27, 14 September 2023 (UTC)
There was one last Oraka 1987 reference, which I've fixed. If you haven't already you can turn on these error messages as detailed here Category:Harv and Sfn template errors. If I can help in anyway please just ask. -- LCU ActivelyDisinterested transmissions °co-ords° 19:53, 14 September 2023 (UTC)

Man O’ War Nigeria. winks Vanderwaalforces (talk) 14:10, 11 September 2023 (UTC)

Vanderwaalforces, I have made some copyedit and marked it as reviewed. In the other news, Benin Moat is in review for GA. I have gone through the sources and have found that some sources are not so quality. Can you kindly go through them and remove them as I hope that this article passes a GA, so, that, it will be a cornerstone for my rewriting of Third Generation of Nigerian Writers. Best, Reading Beans (talk) 10:04, 12 September 2023 (UTC)
I saw, many thanks. I will go through the sources individually and try and find replacements. I also hope it passes, lol. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 11:50, 12 September 2023 (UTC)
It was a quick fail, but I bet I owe the article improvements as per the reviewer's judgement, criteria-wise. I definitely find their comments interesting and has encouraged me to expand the article as their judgements were true. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 18:32, 12 September 2023 (UTC)
Yes. I saw the review and pointed out things I couldn’t point out. The reviewed would have failed with the sources there then. Also, have you seen Walls of Benin? Is it different from the moat? If it is not different, then, a merge should be done. Also, in some few days, I will be nominating Igbo literature for GA. Best, Reading Beans (talk) 13:50, 13 September 2023 (UTC)
@Reading Beans It's funny why the page was initially created with "Walls of Benin". Welp, according to my further findings since yesterday, it was when European visitors visited the moats that they described it as the "Great Wall of Benin", for example, Dapper 1668. [3]
So, maybe I would end up merging it to Benin Moat? wdyt? Merge and redirect? Vanderwaalforces (talk) 14:20, 13 September 2023 (UTC)
Do you think the Igbo literature would pass? I mean, it's short, can short articles be promoted? Vanderwaalforces (talk) 14:22, 13 September 2023 (UTC)
@Vanderwaalforces, A merge would be required. Also, dictionaries of the Polish language is a short article (in my view) but also a GA. Moreover, Igbo literature is still expanding. I have about two to three more sections to add and the last section will be expanded. So, it will definitely be a long article when it's done. Sorry for replying late on this. I didn't see it earlier due to my busy schedule. Best, Reading Beans (talk) 08:49, 19 September 2023 (UTC)
@Reading Beans Yes, I will have to redirect it to the Benin Moat article, the Walls of Benin can not even be a standalone page because without the moat, there is no wall. Moreover, I have covered all of the details currently in the Walls of Benin article in the Benin Moat article, so, yes. Igbo literature is definitely going to make a Good article. I think, generally, if someone knows what they are doing, making a good article shouldn't be a difficult task. Kudos to you for expanding that Igbo literature article. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 09:09, 19 September 2023 (UTC)
I have now successfully done this. Hehe :) Vanderwaalforces (talk) 18:32, 20 September 2023 (UTC)
you done try. Your GA is in view. Best, Reading Beans (talk) 06:51, 21 September 2023 (UTC)
@Vanderwaalforces, what do you think about Igbo literature now? Reading Beans (talk) 11:55, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
Great work so far, especially expansion. I am not able to look too much now because I don't like using my phone for editing, when I get to my PC I would look further, also, shall I do some copy-editing, if possible? Vanderwaalforces (talk) 17:53, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
@Vanderwaalforces, I am not the owner of the article. It's a collaborative project, do what you can to improve it. Best, Reading Beans (talk) 19:03, 25 September 2023 (UTC)
You are correct! I will look and Goodluck as I hope it passes, we want more GAs in Nigerian topics :) Vanderwaalforces (talk) 19:06, 25 September 2023 (UTC)

Removal of Naijatastic

A article was nominated for deletion by @Reading Beans, and eventually removed by @Explicit. It is NO surprise that this same @Reading Beans started / created an article for a Naijatastic competitor music website called Naijaloaded a few months prior to asking for the deletion of Naijatastic. It is not a coincidence and shows the Wikipedia system is not fool-proof and easily manipulated by admins who beat the system for their benefit and the organizations they are associated with. This same deleted Naijatastic has press coverage from ThisdayLive, @the_Guardian_(Nigeria), Vanguard Newspaper and many more. Pandaxo (talk) 12:43, 25 September 2023 (UTC)

@Pandaxo, ahum! I only nominated because Naijatastic is non-notable. I'm serious if the deletion harmed your SEO (I think). Also, I do not have any connection with Naijaloaded. If you have connections, see {{COI}} or {{UPE}}. Best, Reading Beans (talk) 19:06, 25 September 2023 (UTC)
@Reading Beans Naijatastic is non-notable? That is wrong assertion. If you don't know Naijatastic, it does not mean it is non-notable. Two Wikipedia articles cited Naijatastic in their references e.g., Korede Bello and Made in Africa. Wikipedia pages should not created for SEO purposes but to showcase notable contents, however, you mentioned "if deletion harmed your SEO" - something entirely out of the point of discussion in your response and shows your real reason for creating Wikipedia pages. Also, in my opinion, I think you have a connection with Naijaloaded and denying it. Best, @Pandaxo. Pandaxo (talk) 19:50, 25 September 2023 (UTC)
@Pandaxo, yes. Naijatastic is just a regular blog. I would remove the link it was to contentious. It is an unreliable source and non-notable topic. If you think it needs to be restored, visit the deletion review board. Best, Reading Beans (talk) 19:58, 25 September 2023 (UTC)
@Reading Beans You do not even know the difference between a regular blog and a regular blog within a platform. Fir example, AudioMack is a platform, and has a blog within it. Naijatastic is a music platform (not a blog or your REGULAR Naijaloaded wordpress blog). The link for Korede Bello and Made In Africa linked to the blog section of the Naijatastic platform. Anyway, good luck with your creating Wikipedia pages for "SEO purposes". FYI, a website not being on Wikipedia does not mean the SEO will be harmed. So you need to get your education right about SEOs. Also, it is shocking how you tagged it unreliable and non-notable topic as a Wikipedia admin. By the way, you don't even know the correct link to direct me to make the appropriate complaint for undeletion. I'm certain that another Wikipedia page will be created for Naijatastic by someone in the future. Best, Pandaxo (talk) 20:18, 25 September 2023 (UTC)
I’m not an administrator neither do I know the intricacies of blogs and whatnots. So, all the best. Reading Beans (talk) 20:22, 25 September 2023 (UTC)
All the best with keeping Naijaloaded alive on Wikipedia. Pandaxo (talk) 20:24, 25 September 2023 (UTC)

You moved Terry Waya to draftspace

You probably know it came back. While my opinion is that it is overblown puffery, your opinion may differ. I invite you to express whatever that opinion might be at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Terry Waya where I am suggesting draftification. I am content that your opinion may differ from mine; this is a neutral invitation. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 22:53, 25 September 2023 (UTC)

@Timtrent, first of all, thank you for nominating it; because I didn't know what else to do with that article. The user who created it has some problematic articles you may want to look into also. Our opinions rarely differ when it comes to articles. So, I voted for it to be draftified (and probably be worked on). Best, Reading Beans (talk) 06:17, 26 September 2023 (UTC)
I see two articles in mainspace, Alkasum Abba and The African Times USA. I will have a look at both of them with as neutral an eye as I am able to use. Thank you for pointing them out. I wasn't even thinking to check the existence of others. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 06:49, 26 September 2023 (UTC)
Ah! Light dawns. You have led me to a sock farm. See Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/UniBrill. Thank you for the clue. Following the breadcrumb trail usually leads to bread. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 07:15, 26 September 2023 (UTC)
Abba seems notable but shouldn't be in mainspace in its current state. The breadcrumbs thing is a nice one. Best, Reading Beans (talk) 07:34, 26 September 2023 (UTC)
Ah, they are always 'just' notable.
It's difficult when not quite sure what to do. I became convinced of sockpuppetry, but had no clue of who the master might be, so I concentrated on the article. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 07:43, 26 September 2023 (UTC)

New pages patrol newsletter

Hello Reading Beans/Archives/2023,

New Page Review article queue, March to September 2023

Backlog update: At the time of this message, there are 11,300 articles and 15,600 redirects awaiting review. This is the highest backlog in a long time. Please help out by doing additional reviews!

October backlog elimination drive: A one-month backlog drive for October will start in one week! Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled. Articles will earn 4x as many points compared to redirects. You can sign up here.

PageTriage code upgrades: Upgrades to the PageTriage code, initiated by the NPP open letter in 2022 and actioned by the WMF Moderator Tools Team in 2023, are ongoing. More information can be found here. As part of this work, the Special:NewPagesFeed now has a new version in beta! The update leaves the NewPagesFeed appearance and function mostly identical to the old one, but updates the underlying code, making it easier to maintain and helping make sure the extension is not decommissioned due to maintenance issues in the future. You can try out the new Special:NewPagesFeed here - it will replace the current version soon.

Notability tip: Professors can meet WP:PROF #1 by having their academic papers be widely cited by their peers. When reviewing professor articles, it is a good idea to find their Google Scholar or Scopus profile and take a look at their h-index and number of citations. As a very rough rule of thumb, for most fields, articles on people with a h-index of twenty or more, a first-authored paper with more than a thousand citations, or multiple papers each with more than a hundred citations are likely to be kept at AfD.

Reviewing tip: If you would like like a second opinion on your reviews or simply want another new page reviewer by your side when patrolling, we recommend pair reviewing! This is where two reviewers use Discord voice chat and screen sharing to communicate with each other while reviewing the same article simultaneously. This is a great way to learn and transfer knowledge.

Broken redirects

Hello, Reading Beans,

PLEASE leave a redirect when you move an article talk page. Not leaving a redirect for Talk:Military dictatorship of Chile created about a dozen broken redirects. So, I created a redirect so I wouldn't need to delete all of these pages. I'm not sure why page movers don't like to leave redirects behind for talk pages but it can cause problems when you don't. Please check "What links here" before deciding whether or not to leave a redirect so we don't end up in these situations. If you had looked at Special:WhatLinksHere/Talk:Military dictatorship of Chile, you would have seen all of the pages that redirected to the one you moved. Thank you. Liz Read! Liz thank you for reaching out. I conducted a round-robin move using pageswap so that's why; the software probably does not leave a redirect for talk pages. I’m sorry for the stress it has put you through. Best, Reading Beans (talk) 02:01, 27 September 2023 (UTC)

Draftify

Hi Reading Beans. Thank you for your hard work at new page patrol recently, but I'm afraid I have to tell you that this this is a wholly inadequate reason to give when draftifying. How is the creator supposed to know what to do to improve the article? And if it is really unencyclopaedic (and I don't think it is), then it belongs at AfD, not draftspace. I know that we have a big backlog right now, but please try not to go too fast, and make sure that if you're moving articles to draftspace you're doing so in accordance with WP:DRAFTIFY and communicating properly with the creator. – Joe (talk) 13:27, 28 September 2023 (UTC)

@Joe Roe, probably going to skip these kind of articles next time. Thank you for reaching out. For the records, I’m not really into species articles and due to the very rough incomprehensible state of the article, I had to move it draftspace. It was already hours in mainspace without any improvement. It has an unencyclopaedic tone (or, you know). Not that it was not notable. I moved it to draftspace for improvement and had no prejudice whatsoever. If my patrols are disruptive, I'll desist from patrolling. Best, Reading Beans (talk) 13:35, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
I'll be honest, this response makes me worry about your ability to patrol new pages in general. How, exactly, was the article "incomprehensible" or "unencyclopaedic"? How did you assess that it met criterion #2 of WP:DRAFTIFY? – Joe (talk) 13:51, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
And here you draftified another species article for "language/grammar problems". Please explain what the errors were, because I can't see a single one. – Joe (talk) 13:59, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
Joe Roe, this is the version I draftified]. It was incomplete. Like I said above, I am not familiar with species and would not patrol these pages from now henceforth. If it was to be a biographical, I would have have done some copyedit to it. Best, Reading Beans (talk) 14:05, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
Okay, let's move away from species. WP:DRAFTIFY clearly states that only new articles should be moved to draftspace unilaterally. You draftified Draft:Preto River (Amapá) after it had been in the mainspace for fourteen years. You draftified Draft:Emily Darlington because it had "no sources"; it cited five sources. You draftified Draft:2020 Ghana Movie Awards as "needs more sources"; it is a two-line stub that is fully verified. I'm literally just picking entries from your draftify log at random here, and finding basic errors in almost every one.
I don't know what to do here. You're a big asset to the NPP team, but no matter how many reviews you do, each and every one needs to be accurate. I think you should definitely stop reviewing species articles or any other articles you feel you have trouble understanding (the English in the two species articles above was perfectly fine). Would you also be willing to check with another reviewer (at WP:NPR, on Discord, or directly) before draftifying any articles, for the time being? – Joe (talk) 15:00, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
@Joe Roe, I'll stop reviewing any article I have trouble understanding Burlington Blaze. Also, Preto River has been a redirect for fourteen year. Either way. I agree with your point. I shall thread judiciously. Happy editing. Best, Reading Beans (talk) 15:07, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
Thank you for understanding. What about checking with someone else before draftifying?
P.S. Preto River (Amapá) was a redirect between 10 September and 17 September this year, that's all. – Joe (talk) 15:11, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
Sure. Two eyes (or more) won't hurt. Best, Reading Beans (talk) 15:16, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
