Mayonnaise

Hi - I have been doing a bit of reading up on Mayonnaise, and reading through the article on WP I noticed some things that contradicted what I had read elsewhere.

Unfortunately, I have neither the time or the expertise to amend the article in question, should it need amending at all.

I am writing to you as you were the last person to revert an edit on the page.

One of the things mentioned is that Hellmann sold the Mayonnaise in "Butter Boats", but I have read elsewhere that he saw this in France, and didn't like it:

"In early 1912, the Hellmanns left New York and traveled to Germany, where they visited Vetschau, Richard’s birthplace. They also went to Paris, where Hellmann met his former colleague, Matt Martinez, who by then was president of his family’s retail food business. Hellmann studied Martinez’s operation and was particularly impressed with his distribution system: Rather then expect customers to come to buy the fruit, cheese, butter, vegetables, jams, and jellies he sold, Martinez delivered the food directly to his customers.7 One of the products that Martinez made and distributed was mayonnaise. The Hellmanns had made a fresh batch of mayonnaise by hand everyday and sold it in small portions at their delicatessen, but Martinez made mayonnaise in bulk and distributed it to hotels and other institutions. Although he was impressed with the concept, Hellmann was put off by the packaging: The mayonnaise was sold in five-pound wooden butter boxes, which to Hellmann seemed unsanitary."

Cannot find external links you referred to

Hi Randompointofview you posted to me about some of my external links that have been removed by other people, but I can't seem to find what those links are? As far as I can see all the external links I've added are still there. Could you point out which links you were talking about? Eric.c.zhang (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 15:19, 9 May 2020 (UTC) I checked again on the edit history of the futures exchange article, and I found that Wikipedia's edit difference viewer didn't give me the right edit notes, causing confusion for me. I sincerely hope that you will have an excellent time here on Wikipedia! Randompointofview (talk) 23:47, 9 May 2020 (UTC) @Eric.c.zhang: Randompointofview (talk) 23:49, 9 May 2020 (UTC)

How are you beating that filter?

The whole point of the edit was to turn filter 1050 against what Wikipedia wants. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 179.6.193.177 (talk) 20:32, 12 May 2020 (UTC)

Re St Louis Country Club

That user attempted to remove a passage stating that the club has a history of antisemitism; if the user is a representative or member of the club, they may want to remove unpleasant history from the article about the club. 331dot (talk) 21:37, 14 May 2020 (UTC)

Re:

Hi,

The ref is a youtube speech on March 21. I let u revert yourself 😀

Ref: Khamenei speech, Ruptly, March 21,2020. It's in Farsi and at 35 min.

The WP bot blacklisted the youtube link, so you'll have to search it yourself.

After consideration and online research today of the original transcript, he might have been speaking about INSTEX instead. I was thinking he may or his government have tons of money in Switzerland "How could he say that?" My bad. 99.203.25.189 (talk) 03:47, 24 May 2020 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for helping with vandalism patrol! When you think you're ready you should apply for rollback permission and get Huggle. I find that Huggle makes monitoring the recent changes feed for vandalism a LOT easier compared to other tools. –Gladamas (talk · contribs) 00:03, 26 May 2020 (UTC)

ghost lake posting

You have noted that I did not cite a source, in part as I am not sure how to do that on a wikipedia page As the mayor of the summer village of ghost lakeand area resident for over 20 years, to a large extent I am the source.

I don't know which part of the posting or information specifically you would like sourced

I cannot provide a source negative items - i.e. the fact that the Ice Sailing club has been defunct for over 10 years

the fact that the Yacht club has been defunct for over 15 years
        the lack of rentals

Limited facilities in the Ghost Reservoir Provincial Recreation Area are not specifically addressed such as

the lack of lifeguards and designated swim areas
        the lack of parking
the lack of public boat docks or morage

None of that specific information is provided on the Government of alberta webpage Their webpages provide just general categories and is very rudimentary https://www.albertaparks.ca/parks/kananaskis/ghost-reservoir-pra/

I can reference the webpage for the Summer Village of Ghost Lake which has access to all public documents, by-laws etc. which support the comments made ghostlake.ca I can reference the MD of BigHorn map which shows that other than Ghost Reservoir Provincial Recreation area all other property around the lake is privately owned https://www.mdbighorn.ca/DocumentCenter/View/574

Please contact me directly if there are specific items you need sourced councillor.walsh@ghostlake.ca MayorSVGL (talk) 00:50, 2 June 2020 (UTC)

In both the VisualEditor and the source editor, there are "cite" buttons to cite things like reliable websites and books. Don't put things that you just "happen to know" without one of these, using @MayorSVGL: as the source violates Wikipedia:No original research. Also, please stop asking for discussion that can easily happen on Wikipedia to happen directly at your email, that is frowned upon. From the speed of your postings, it seems you need to read the introductory materials that I referenced and also should be in your alerts. Sincerely, Randompointofview (talk) 00:57, 2 June 2020 (UTC).

Mani

So ur saying i cant share my opinion for Mani? Hello pop12345 (talk) 03:55, 8 June 2020 (UTC)

If you read the introductory materials that were sent to your @Hello pop12345: alerts, you would've known that sharing your own opinion is a severe violation of Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, a major policy of Wikipedia. Randompointofview (talk) 03:58, 8 June 2020 (UTC)

You've either made a mistake or are a mistake

I have no idea what you mean that I'm harassing other users, I literally have not spoken to anyone at any point - I just registered and fixed a few typos in some small articles near me. Why on earth are you accusing me? Mostcommonphraseongoogle (talk) 04:47, 11 June 2020 (UTC)

This permalink that is located at @Mostcommonphraseongoogle: contains content that some editors may interpret as a death threat (talk pages are often needed for serious communication). In addition, you should be careful to provide at least basic respect when interacting with other people. Sincerely, Randompointofview (talk) 04:52, 11 June 2020 (UTC).
You're seriously suggesting the phrase "Hello World, Halt and Catch Fire" might be considered a death threat? That's beyond hilarious, into downright bizarre mate. Perhaps you should consider showing basic respect - because your attitude thusfar would be comparable to if I complained that "Randompointofview" was an offensive username because it might mean that it's discounting minority voices as lacking the same relevance to post-modern discussions...in short, (Personal attack removed)Mostcommonphraseongoogle (talk) 04:54, 11 June 2020 (UTC)

Response to your message on my edit

Hello I am Adeoti12. You reverted my edit and left a message for me. I have responded to the message. But, here I present my response again.Hello. First, I want to say that I am a Yoruba man from South West of Nigeria. So, Yoruba is my first language. I also studied it at higher level of education. Now, no Yoruba man will interpret or call Mali 'Imale'. No! In Yoruba sintagmatic word construction or morphological inflections, Mali has no reason to change from Mali as it naturally follows there consonant vowel or vowel consonant relationship/arrangements of their words. Thus, Mali will still be Mali, or at worse, Manli or Monli. It could never have been 'Imale'. As I have said, 'Imale' reading as suggested in the history as placed on Wikipedia now is a revisionist history that seeks to distort the Yoruba reading of Islam as 'Imo lile', meaning hard or harsh knowledge or belief. Yoruba are known to call Islam 'Imo-lile' suggesting a form of obstinacy and forcefulness in its mode of teaching... Thus, the earliest Muslims are known to respond by singing that: Eni ba pe Musulumi loni 'mole, ko ke'wu, ko gbede, alaimokan ni. Meaning, 'Whoever calls a Muslim one with a difficult belief, he/she has not learn Quran or the hadit, he/she is ignorant... This is the true history. If 'Imale' means Malian, there would have been no need for that fight or drama... I am aware that Islamic historians have been struggling to review or revise that history, the history of 'Imo'le' among the Yoruba. Thank you. Adeoti12 (talk) 07:27, 13 May 2021 (UTC)

@Adeoti12: I would like to clarify that the main issue with this edit is not necessarily the claim, but rather that it didn't follow the guidelines from Wikipedia:Citing sources, and I apologize for not specifically saying this in talk page notes. Otherwise, the edit would be original research, which is generally not allowed. I would also recommend visiting Help:Getting started to learn more about editing, and asking any further questions you may have at the Wikipedia:Teahouse. Sincerely, Randompointofview (talk) 23:13, 13 May 2021 (UTC)

Noted. Thank you for the clarification. Adeoti12 (talk) 00:59, 14 May 2021 (UTC)

Welcome message

Stop sending me "welcoming" messages to me complaining about "edit summaries in La Paz article" automated templates. I'm fix grammar and adding more references. You're welcome. --Jalapestra (talk) 02:45, 20 December 2021 (UTC)

Hello, Jalapestra,
If you don't like messages from other editors noting mistakes you've made, you will not be an editor here very long. This is a collaborative editing project and everyone is subject to scrutiny, no matter how many years you've been editing. It's the nature of the project. If you can't handle criticism, this is not the place for you. Liz Read! Talk! 03:21, 20 December 2021 (UTC)
