  Hello, I'm 2601:188:180:1481:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. 2601:188:180:1481:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 22:52, 30 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

  Hello, Randall kramer. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. 2601:188:180:1481:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 22:52, 30 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

There are two issues here. Firstly, if you are Randy Kramer, we'll need you to confirm that via email to info-en wikimedia.org. You can find more about that requirement at WP:IMPERSONATE. I apologize for the inconvenience, but you'll appreciate that the purpose is to prevent some random person from falsely claiming that they're you. Secondly, that's not "your own personal page". Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and our articles don't belong to the subjects. Your changes were not backed up by reliable published sources such as articles written by newspapers or reputable magazines. Thus there was no way for our readers to verify what you wrote. Personally I don't doubt the accuracy of your changes, but I expect you'll agree that it would set a very bad precedent if we allowed article subjects to change the articles' content on the basis of "It's true, trust me". You should also take a look at WP:Autobiography; writing about oneself on Wikipedia is strongly discouraged due to the inherent conflict of interest.
To be unblocked, you will address the username issue, and you will need to agree to not add unsourced or unreliably sourced content to Wikipedia, not even (particularly not!) to the article about yourself. Huon (talk) 07:27, 5 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
