Speedy deletion nomination of Jetran and Petran

edit

A tag has been placed on Jetran and Petran, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Blocked

edit

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended or used for publicity and/or promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully.

Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but it is considered inappropriate for such groups to use Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not. See WP:FAQ/Organization for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, or organization. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

What can I do now?

You are still welcome to write about something other than your company or organization. If you do intend to make useful contributions on some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, please see how to appeal a block.

{{unblock-spamun|Radu Rzv|I'm a user of Wikipedia and I find it a great tool. I am a UK business student as well. I did some market research for a University project and I found this company called Bell Packaging. I found their products to be very interesting and patented. As I had the chance to visit the company as part of the project that I did, I suggested them to add themselves on Wikipedia as their products are unique and interesting. I've put myself forward to do it. I am perfectly aware that the article was written badly and it lacked of neutral point of view. What I would like to say is the fact that it was just my first article, it was a trial and I've placed the article there just to show them how it will look like because I couldn't use the sandbox. I do apologies for the inconvenience and please let me writte a proper article. I'm asking for one more chance, plz. Thank you for your understanding}}

Please ensure that you have only ONE unblock request, it will go into a queue ... when it gets looked at by a volunteer admin, it will be taken care of. Your userpage

edit

If you ever want to make this into an actual Wikipedia article, it's going to need some major changes. First off, we don't use trademark notices such as ® in articles. It's assumed that any brand name is copyrighted or trademarked. More importantly, it still reads like advertising copy, as opposed to the neutral tone expected from an encyclopedia article. A good example of this problem is this sentence: "The optical clarity and physical strength of Retran® tubes are excellent and simillar to Jetran®." Lastly, there are still no independent reliable sources attached to verify the content and establish the products' notability. While there is no deadline for a Wikipedia article, anything that could be seen as advertising can be deleted, even if it is in your user space. Beeblebrox (talk) 21:14, 2 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (File:Jetran.gif)

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Jetran.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 03:49, 3 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

File:Logo4.png

edit

I have tagged File:Logo4.png as {{orphaned fairuse}}. In order for the image to be kept at Wikipedia, it must be included in at least one article. Otherwise, it will be deleted in seven days. Melesse (talk) 03:50, 3 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hello, just to let you know that both files( File:Logo4.png,File:Jetran.gif) are now included into an article that I'm working on. Please find it in my User page. Thank you for pointing that out. Radu rzv (talk)

Non-free files can only be used in actual articles, they can't be used on userpages. If you can get the page up to snuff within the seven day time frame the page can be moved into article space and it won't be an issue. If not the files will be deleted but you can always re-upload them when the article is ready. Beeblebrox (talk) 20:08, 3 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Jetlock-step-1.png

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Jetlock-step-1.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free image with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria.

If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the image can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{non-free fair use in|article name that the image is used in}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the image. If the image has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

Beeblebrox (talk) 15:19, 5 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

I've actually nominated all three of the images at the bottom of the page as they are incorrectly identified as logos. They will need to have valid fair use rationales added to them if they are to be kept. Beeblebrox (talk) 15:26, 5 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hello! I'm just wondering is it “Speedy Deletion” the feedback that I've asked for?..that was The User page so a bit of feedback before deletion as I already asked for wouldn't hurt anybody and I could have modify it accordingly. Any way Thank You! I’ll re-write it..Radu rzv (talk)

I gave you some very clear advice on what the problems were with this page and how to fix them four days ago.[1] At the time of deletion it still had most if not all of these problems despite being heavily edited by you in the meantime. There are 3,370,614 articles already on the English Wikipedia, maybe you should try working with our existing content and getting a better feel for how it works and what it is supposed to look like before creating new pages. Many new user have their first attempts at creating a page deleted because they do not adequately understand our policies. The best, most concise guide to what Wikipedia is and how it works is the five pillars of Wikipedia. The whole maze of policies here are all based on these five core principles. I do apologise. I think I have to read a bit more about the Wiki Policies. Thx! Radu rzv (talk) 08:05, 9 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I've just modified the deleted draft according with your feedback, I believe. Have a look and tell me how it sounds now.User:Radu rzv/ Bell Packaging. I didn't upload any pictures yet as you may delete this one as well. Cheers! Radu rzv (talk) 11:32, 9 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
