Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page The Joy Formidable has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I removed the following link(s): http://www.flickr.com/photos/concertscaptured/3666402826/. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. an image file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. The Joy Formidable article

edit

Hi! I presume I'm not mistaken if I take it from your name that you're a band member of The Joy Formidable. If so, it's only natural that the content of the Wikipedia article is important to you. Still, I would like to request you to alter your editing behaviour. You keep changing the content of the page to an MTV article. While it is probably written better in many ways and is also a good read, the tone and style are very different from the (encyclopedic) ones used around here. Even more importantly, using it is a blatant copyright violation and there is absolutely no toleration for this on Wikipedia. Of course, erasing existing factual and sourced information written by other Wikipedia editors is a little ignorant too. Still, I understand that some parts of the article might not be to your liking or you might wholly disagree with some of it – there's nothing wrong about that. However, you will likely get much better results from a different approach: express any concerns you have at the article's talk page. As a person who is very, very closely related to the band, it will be difficult to stay neutral and objective even if you acknowledge your conflict of interests and try to overcome it. Anything that bothers you with the article will be happily – but also more easily and elegantly – handled by experienced editors around here. That is, if you provide your opinion and thoughts on any possible issues at the talk page. Another thing I must note: the content of the article does not belong to you any more than it belongs to other editors, unless there are any legal issues like defamation, etc. involved. So, to wrap it up: as a fan of the band I ask you to please reconsider your approach to Wikipedia and be more collaborative. That way you won't be blocked (which was the direction you were heading, unfortunately...), the article will improve and everybody will be happier! —Quibik (talk) 19:31, 12 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
