Margaret Mooney

edit

Hi. In response to your email:

For help with images: Wikipedia:Images. It's quite a big article, but you can just choose the bits you want. Be careful to read the bits about images licensing, though, or your images are likely to be deleted.

Before you upload your images, and move your article to the main namespace, you'll need to read Wikipedia:Notability. You know more about Margaret Mooney than I do, but I've done a quick google, and I'm not sure she'd meet wikipedia's notability criteria: I'm not sure that there is significant coverage of her in sources independent of the subject.

In your email you offered to give me the password to your sandbox - it's never a good idea to share your password. That would give me access to your user account, and only you should have that. I can see the sandbox just fine without being logged in as you.

If you need help again, by all means email, but it's better to communicate through talk pages. If you reply here, I'll see it, and I'll respond. I might not be available quickly, though, so if you're ever in need of help: WP:Help is useful, failing which WP:Helpdesk - they're both much more up to date and well informed than I am. --HughCharlesParker (talk - contribs) 21:38, 24 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thank you
You answered all my questions. Many thanks for taking the time just to look her up and for your response. Yes, I wondered if she is sufficiently well-known but since I've seen some of the city's celeb's have pages on Wikipedia, I wondered. Alas, she's one of those who refuse self-promotion unless pushed hard and who refuses to have so much as a webpage out of fear. She'll likely be happy to be complimented simply for my having tried this.
And yes, I know it's risky offering my password, I did fret about that, but you sound trustworthy. (Love your name). I know it is folly to bet on a paltry hunch. I will accept your advice. I figured I'd never want to submit anything else to Wikipedia, but who knows.
Pat me on the back though, since I've managed at least to learn how to use Talk on Wikipedia. Even learning that seemed overwhelming a week ago.
Gratefully,
S

You're welcome. I'm glad you've got involved, and I hope you stay. Why not have a look at the WP:Community Portal to find way to contribute?
Whether or not Margaret Mooney is sufficiently notable wouldn't be affected by her having her own website or doing any self promotion; Wikipedia needs sources independent of the subject.
All the best. --HughCharlesParker (talk - contribs) 08:31, 27 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
