Signatures edit

Hi Pshidute, please remember to put your signature only on talk and project pages, not into articles, as you did on List of schools in Namibia today. Your additions to articles and lists are attributed via the page history; signatures of all contributing editors would unnecessarily clutter the articles. Desalination plant in Namibia edit

Namibia being the driest country in Sub-Saharan Africa, there was need to get alternative sources of water supply for mines along the Namibian coast, apart from groundwater abstracted from the omdel aquifer.[1] The large-scale desalination plant ever in Sub-Saharan Africa[2] was inaugurated by AREVA on the 16th of April 2010.[3] The plant is located at Wlotzkasbaken, 30km north of Swakopmund on the Atlantic coast.[4] The plant has a capacity desig to supply 45 million m3 of water per year [5] , however it is curentlly being operated at 20 million m3 of potable water per annum that is used to supply Trekkopje Uranium Mine, located 50 kilometres inland and the surrounding communities.
