 Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Sign your messages with four tildes (~~~~), be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Happy editing! Cheers, Comr Melody Idoghor (talk) 11:29, 31 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

DYK about DYK? edit

Hi Prodigiousfool and congratulations on getting your article Rubicon (protein) accepted. It is impressive that the Project experts have assessed it as "C", which is a much higher rating than new articles usually achieve. I suggest that the next step is to nominate the article for a "Did you know....", which would mean that it would be featured on the Main Page and this often drives thousands of page views to new articles. You have a week from today to make the nomination, following the instructions at Template_talk:Did you know. You can check on my Talk Page the sort of output the process gives. I have only created a few articles but I always do a DYK for each. Let me know by posting here if you need any assistance in completing the nomination. Thanks for the encouragement and suggestion! I created a nomination: Template:Did you know nominations/Rubicon (protein)
Not sure if something is wrong with my image link, which I intended to link to this: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Crystal_structure_of_Human_Rubicon_protein_bound_to_Rab7-GTP.png
Best,

The image is fine. The way they are displayed for DYK there is no box around them, as there would be using the "thumb" parameter normally used in articles. I've added (shown) as that's usually how the DYKs having the daily image are labelled: see typical Main Page. Looks good to me! Mike Turnbull (talk) 11:09, 22 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

DYK for Rubicon (protein) edit

On 1 September 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Rubicon (protein), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the genetic deletion of the protein Rubicon increases the lifespan of roundworms and female fruit flies? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Rubicon (protein). You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Rubicon (protein)), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
