Prime Ministers

edit

Could you please discuss these changes you wish to make and gain consensus for them? --John (talk) 23:11, 8 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Certainly. The Government Art Collection has made available, through the Open Government Licence (v1.0), the official Downing Street portrait photographs of former British Prime Ministers. The articles for David Cameron, Gordon Brown, Harold Wilson and Harold Macmillan currently display their official portraits - I can't think why this should not also apply to Blair and Major. Plus the articles of other heads of government/state typically use their official portrait (examples: Mark Rutte, Johann Schneider-Ammann, Enrique Peña Nieto, Barack Obama). To use one specific example: the image used on Bill Clinton's article is notably out of date, and his physical appearance is considerably changed, yet the consensus is that his official portrait from the 90s should be used in the infobox and other relevant tables, articles etc. I am sure that this would be changed, were he to become First Gentleman of the United States, in January 2017, and a new official portrait be produced.
