Welcome and introduction

Hi, Phil Crystal. This is NOT some automated message...it's from a real person. You can talk to me right now. Welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed you've just joined, and wanted to give you a few tips to get you started. If you have any questions, please talk to us. The tips below should help you to get Best of luck!  Chzz  ►  17:25, 11 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

ようこそ
  • You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.
  • Ask for help. Talk to us live, or edit this page, put {{helpme}} and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.
  • Edit existing articles, before you make your own. Look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better. For example, Wikipedia:Cleanup#2009.
  • When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page.

There's lots of information below. Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia!

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. When you make a change to an article, please provide an edit summary, which you forgot to do before saving your recent edit to Skyhigh (manga). Doing so helps everyone to understand the intention of your edit. It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 23:13, 12 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Wikipedia. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Please do not remove consensus templates. Lefty101 (talk) 18:13, 13 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Please stop assuming ownership of articles such as Sky High (TV Series). Doing so may lead to disruptive behavior such as edit wars and is a violation of policy, which may lead to a block from editing. Wikipedia works as a consensus, as in, if someone thinks an article should be merged, that idea is discussed. Please do not block this process as it is a breach of Ownership rules. Consider this a formal warning. Lefty101 (talk) 18:15, 13 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thank you, Phil! I think you are doing a wonderful job. Sadly, there are others who believe that they have been instilled with some sort of police power, as if they "own" wikipedia. I assure you that they do not. --Even though some start jumping all over you with threatening tags and notes, within minutes, before you have even had a chance to finish typing or link your source. And they talk about edit wars? They're the ones engaged in an edit war. It's not courteous. (My goodness, at least give someone thirty minutes to finish typing!--then if you don't like it or have a concern, discuss it.) Don't worry about those kinds of unhappy people! We're all here helping each other and I think you did a wonderful job on the article. For the first time, ever, it has substance. And it's such a wonderful show, too. All my Japanese friends love it--it's time my American friends knew about it! Many of them know about the movie--and this finally explains where the movie came from. Thank you, Phil--and welcome to wikipedia! Yumi (Happy Yumi Harris (talk) 18:47, 15 April 2010 (UTC))Reply

Thank you, Yumi. You're very sweet.  :) Those were my thoughts on the matter. But, hey, we do what we can do and work to get along. I've been around this wiki before, when something interests me and if I happen to know something about it--and I’ll drop in. When I do, my goal is always to be as accurate and thorough as possible, and if I get it wrong (and I‘ve been known to get things wrong--my wife tells me daily), let me know and I'll work with you to get it right. And you're fun to work with--I‘ve enjoyed this.  :) Phil Crystal (talk) 19:19, 15 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
