Welcome edit

Hello, PeterPiperPickles, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your edits to the page Shannon Briggs have not conformed to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and have been reverted. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media. Always remember to provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles.

If you are stuck and looking for help, please see the guide for citing sources or come to the new contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!  Danger (talk) 01:28, 17 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

How references work edit

Simple references edit

These require two parts;

a)
Chzz is 98 years old.<ref> "The book of Chzz", Aardvark Books, 2009. </ref>

He likes tea. <ref> [http://www.nicecupofteaandasitdown.com Tea website] </ref>
b) A section called "References" with the special code "{{reflist}}";
== References ==
{{reflist}}

(an existing article is likely to already have one of these sections)

To see the result of that, please look at user:chzz/demo/simpleref. Edit it, and check the code; perhaps make a test page of your own, such as user:PeterPiperPickles/reftest and try it out.

Named references edit

Chzz was born in 1837. <ref name=MyBook>
"The book of Chzz", Aardvark Books, 2009.
</ref>

Chzz lives in Footown.<ref name=MyBook/>

Note that the second usage has a / (and no closing ref tag). This needs a reference section as above; please see user:chzz/demo/namedref to see the result.

Citation templates edit

You can put anything you like between <ref> and </ref>, but using citation templates makes for a neat, consistent look;

Chzz has 37 Olympic medals. <ref> {{Citation
 | last = Smith
 | first = John
 | title = Olympic medal winners of the 20th century
 | publication-date = 2001
 | publisher = [[Cambridge University Press]]
 | page = 125
 | isbn = 0-521-37169-4
}}
</ref>

Please see user:chzz/demo/citeref to see the result.

For more help and tips on that subject, see user:chzz/help/refs.  Chzz  ►  18:57, 26 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

March 2011 edit

  Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article 1017 Brick Squad, please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. See Wikipedia:Citing sources for how to cite sources, and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. STATic message me! 17:25, 27 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

November 2011 edit

  Please do not add or change content without verifying it by citing reliable sources, as you did to Waka Flocka Flame. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. (talk) 07:48, 23 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

  Please do not add unsourced content, as you did to Waka Flocka Flame. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. (talk) 20:11, 23 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

June 2012 edit

  This is your only warning; if you make personal attacks on other people again, as seen at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kali Bowyer, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. - The Bushranger One ping only 21:52, 22 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Okay I do apologize, this person has been non stop harassing me and I lost my cool.

Then you need to strike through your comments, like this. - The Bushranger One ping only 23:07, 22 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
i will do i put the <s> </s> at beginning and end of it?
That's correct. - The Bushranger One ping only 23:32, 22 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
think i did it the rite way?
Yup. Thanks. I'd reccomend you read up on Wikipedia's policies a bit; they can be daunting but once you wrap your mind around them, they become second nature. - The Bushranger One ping only 23:56, 22 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

do i need to strike thru both? can u help me with this page? shoot late for work. will log back on later thanx!

You might want to strike through the comments in the first line, but your keep !vote can stand - I've taken the liberty of fixing it up for you, feel free to modify it and to add a new Keep rationaile. I'd suggest reading WP:CIVIL, WP:NPA, WP:BLP and WP:BIO for starters. Good luck! - The Bushranger One ping only 00:10, 23 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

I honestly did not accuse without having proof. I can attach proof if I can figure out how to do so. --PeterPiperPickles (talk) 18:32, 23 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edits edit

  Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button   or   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 18:22, 23 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for that info! --PeterPiperPickles (talk) 18:30, 23 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

A barnstar for you! edit

  The Barnstar of Good Humor
Saying "thank you" to robots is something that I do, too. Robots don't feel any different as a result of being thanked (though someday soon that functionality might be added), but it shows that we appreciate the work that they carry out uncomplainingly every single day, to make Wikipedia better. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 18:36, 23 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Kali bowyer edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Kali bowyer requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Cindy(talk) 07:15, 30 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Kali bowyer edit

Hello PeterPiperPickles,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Kali bowyer for deletion, because it seems to be vandalism or a hoax.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. —Σosthenes12 Talk 17:34, 30 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
