Trojan Horse edit

On Wikipedia everything needs a reference and the eighth-century date is supported by Michael Wood's book about the War. Best. --Old Moonraker (talk) 20:39, 15 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

I only understand computer terminologies in English, so I can't translate the terms on the diagrams. Hopefully you can find someone to help. --Vina (talk) 01:20, 13 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

User script listings cleanup project edit

I'm leaving this message for all recent contributors to Wikipedia:WikiProject User scripts/Scripts.

This scripts listing page is in dire need of cleanup. To facilitate this, I've created a new draft listing at Wikipedia:WikiProject User scripts/Scripts cleanup. You're invited to list scripts you know to be currently working and relevant. Eventually this draft page can replace the current scripts listing.

If you'd like to comment or collaborate on this proposal, see the discussion I started here: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject User scripts#Scripts listing cleanup project. Thanks! Equazcion (talk) 00:19, 25 Mar 2012 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. Emoji console still has issues for Safari edit

Screen capture of FireFox console (edit bar) FFemojiConsole.jpg - notice how many emojis are in the console. Not sure why that is happening

Screen capture of Safari console (edit bar) SafariEmojiConsole.jpg - no emojis at all

Sorry to be a bother but I'm at a loss for what to do. FF is not my default browser so changing browsers isn't an option. Best - Atsme📞📧 02:51, 1 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello Atsme, thanks for you response. Unfortunately I can't reproduce the fault and I've no clue about this browser. I've installed Safari 5 on Windows for testing and it works. Can you look in your browser-console (maybe with ALT CMD C)⁉ I mean it is a security-setting of Safari. You must allow https://meta.wikimedia.org/ and https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia
@FF, double load: I've fixed this (because you have installed it global and local, global should be sufficient).
GreetingsUser: Perhelion  01:07, 2 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
Thank you kindly, Perhelion. Whatever you did, the emoji dashboard is now working in Safari but with double load (3 emoji heads) the same as it's still doing in FF on this Mac. Not a big deal. I may have added the script where it shouldn't belong, like in common.js or a skin maybe, or it could be global that's causing it. Anyway, thank you again!!   Atsme📞📧 03:12, 2 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
Good to hear this, then it was high probably a cache issue. Enjoy it   (PS: my girlfriend has a Mac)User: Perhelion  11:59, 2 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
You nailed it! I shut down the puter, and this morning everything is back working normally. It was a cache issue as you suggested. TY again. Atsme📞📧 16:35, 2 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

It's that time of year... edit

Christmas tree worm, (Spirobranchus gigantic)
Time To Spread Some Happy Holiday Cheer!!
I decorated a special kind of Christmas tree in the spirit of the season.

What's especially nice about the digitized version is that it doesn't need water,

and it won't catch fire.
Wishing you a joyous holiday season...
...and a prosperous New Year!! 🍸🎁 🎉

Pure pun-ishment. [1]
Thank you very much! I wish the same to you.  What someone say, the smiley-bar is not suitable for Wikipedia is exactly the other. It now becomes a main goal of Mediawiki (which seems a conclusion of the more and more declining user-numbers). See for example mw:Social tools It should be more users like you here. Best wishes.User: Perhelion  23:19, 23 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Errors with m:User:Perhelion/userstatus.js edit

Hello, Perhelion. I'm not well-versed in JavaScript at all, but, for some reason, whenever I try to put the code listed under Configuration into my global.js file, it has two error. For line 3 of the codeblock, it says Missing semicolon. Expected '}' to match '{' from line 2 and instead saw ':'. On line 8 it says Expected ')' and instead saw ';'. Missing semicolon. Unrecoverable syntax error. Is there something wrong with the code? If so, could you please update that page with the correct code and let me know when you've done so? Also, can you please clarify what you meant by "add following code-block before the integration"? Before what integration? Gestrid (talk) 23:10, 9 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello @Gestrid:, thanks for informing. There was indeed an error. I've improved the description a bit more!? I'll also more improve the script, as it has (like all other similar scripts, sometimes a bad API response time). Greetings User: Perhelion 08:34, 11 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for correcting the typo. Also, I noticed you've updated the script. Whatever you did is causing the "Registration-date" and the "Last edited" info to not load, at least for me. Gestrid (talk) 15:53, 11 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
Hey   yes I've made again a small mistake on a test change (not many time spend on this). It is fixed now, aside of this I'll make an greater update for speed and minimizing server-requests. Thanks again User: Perhelion 16:06, 11 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Cleveland Diocese Coat of Arms edit

It was my intention to put it out as .svg file but when I used Inkscape to convert it, the colors changed completely. I have no idea why since all the others converted fine...

Roberto221 (talk) 23:19, 2 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hello Roberto, maybe it is phab:T68672. Can you upload the SVG? PS: Oh I see File:Coat of Arms Diocese of Cleveland, OH.png and someone already uploaded a SVG File:Roman Catholic Diocese of Cleveland.svg. What do you mean with completely? Sometimes the CSS values and the SVG values colliding. User: Perhelion 23:42, 2 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

I just uploaded it, its called
File:Test Diocese of Cleveland, OH.svg

As you can see, what is supposed to be white in the shield became yellow. The rest of the shield is supposed to be dark blue. The mitre(hat} is supposed to be yellow. This didn't happen with any of the other files. The File:Roman Catholic Diocese of Cleveland.svg is the old file..

Roberto221 (talk) 00:37, 3 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Roberto221: oh* this is unfortunately poor SVG, an autotrace. Each color is a single layer over each other. I suggest to take the old SVG as model for a real drawing. The details on you "new" version are also very low. Should this not be Ermine (heraldry)? User: Perhelion 15:30, 3 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

A little help for sl.wiki edit

Hi. I would kindly ask you for a little help on sl.wiki (or at least an opinion):

As you can see, sl:Modul:Authority control#footer uses the imported navbox frame. Now I would need the similar one for sl:Template:Predloga za škrbino (it's about 1px frame for stub templates). I "tried" to make a new sl:Modul:Navpolje za škrbino and invoke it in the Template:Predloga za škrbino. Could you please check this module a little bit and rewrite it professional way?

The reason is sticking all kind of navboxes together (as in sl:Arat#footer for example). --Janezdrilc (talk) 11:52, 5 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

No problem, a simplier idea came to my mind and it works just as imagined. Thanks anyway. --Janezdrilc (talk) 20:15, 28 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
