Draft Feedback: Health Code

edit

Hello, overall your translation draft for Health Code is clear and understandable. I have some suggestions below.

In the lead, there are a few minor grammatical errors. The lead is still easy to comprehend, but fixing these may help improve readability.

  • Specifying that it is an application used during the COVID-19 pandemic (since COVID-19 is just the disease name)
  • "...generate a QR code that identifies an individual's risk level..."
  • "As of April 2020, over 200 cities..."
  • "Health Code" in the last sentence of the lead can be capitalized

History section:

  • I find the first sentence about the outbreak reigniting when the winter break is over is a little confusing. Might I suggest "holiday" instead of "break"? I think one area of confusion is that "reigniting" implies that the outbreak was previously ignited. Is this meaning used in the original article? If so, it's fine to keep it.

Problem and Conflict section:

  • "New York Times" is usually italicized as The New York Times, by writing convention.
  • I'm unsure what "regional discordant video transmissions" means. Is there an alternative phrasing that would be simpler?
  • Does "nucleic acid test" refer to a DNA test? If so, I would recommend adjusting it to "DNA test" since DNA is a better-known term.

Notes and References

  • I don't see this section with the translation, so make sure you add this in before uploading.

Final suggestions (for everyone):

  • Make sure your article has the note about it being a translation from your language Wikipedia. Revisit the translation training modules to see how you can properly attribute authorship.
  • Make sure that the article's in-line citations are properly formatted. Revisit the citations training modules.
  • Before posting to the mainspace, do a final read through and check for typos, capitalization of proper nouns (ex. is your article about an app or law?), verb tense agreement, etc. The article does not need to be perfect--fellow Wikipedians will help edit--but it should be polished to the best of your ability.
  • Consider adding wiki links
  • Make sure that when you upload, the only thing in the draft is the article. Lab discussions should not appear in the mainspace.
  • Upload when you are ready. The article does not need to be published in the very first week our lab starts uploading. If you still have questions or want more feedback, reach out to your buddy or me (no real names on Wikipedia, but since this may be the first time you see my Wikipedia username, I'm the senior coordinator for the project who is not your buddy haha).

Pancake8/sandbox moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Pancake8/sandbox, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
