Hidalgo

As regards your grammatical change. In Spanish the h is silent. The grammatical rules as I know them are that if the word starts with a vowel then you use "an" if a consonant then "a". Given that the "h" in Spanish is silent the word is pronounced "idalgo" not hidalgo, thus it is proper to use "an" not "a". I understand that single language English speakers have difficulty acknowledging Spanish words and pronunciation, such as Nevada is Ne vah da in Spanish but English speakers insult the language by saying Ne Vay da, junta is pronounced hunta in Spanish and I cringe every time I hear it pronounced Junta. I've even heard people say mo jave when it is pronounced "mo ha vay" Mexicans are noted for their linquistic chauvinism (orgullo - pride) as a native English speaking anglo saxon American it pains me to see a similar attitude in my countrymen. The English language owes its existence to almost every other language in the world. I shudder to think we wind up like the French and Mexicans which have official committees to ensure that foreign words (specifically English)00:40, 20 June 2019 (UTC)

Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hello, I'm Mattythewhite. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Luton Town F.C., but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Mattythewhite (talk) 20:39, 16 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
