C. Ronaldo dispute resolution edit

@O'Flannery: Hello, I saw your contribution on the talk page. I think it's useless to discuss further, so I've decided to ask for a moderator. If you want to give your opinion, you can find the dispute resolution here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Dispute_resolution_noticeboard#Talk:Cristiano_Ronaldo Max Eisenhardt (talk) 18:41, 5 July 2017 (UTC). July 2017 edit

Your recent editing history at Cristiano Ronaldo shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. C.Ronaldo and Shady59 edit

This is guy is again unbelievable. He keeps reverting the changes that have been made. I reported him to the admins and I reported him for edit warring. Don't know what to do else. This is getting crazier and crazier. Max Eisenhardt (talk) 13:05, 30 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Max Eisenhardt I just saw. Yes, it seems he just can't be reasoned with. Well I had a look over the recent content dispute discussion and it looks like a compromise has been reached, so we shall see what he does next...At least others are now aware of what he is doing. Not me! edit

Hey, I just wanted to let you know that this paragraph in our discussion over on CR7 wasn't from me. It was added below my response without being signed off and looks like it's from me. Clearly we disagree but I don't think accusations for your contribs history or edit-warring are necessary for discussion! Just wanted to clear that up.--Formulaonewiki (talk) 10:00, 1 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

"You're so biased here that its incredible. I remember Ronaldo fans being biased too when I first rewrote Messi's article from "one of the greatest" to "many regard him as the greatest". Your claim that the UCL is the primary factor to win the Balon d'Or is an outright joke. Having played quite a few games less, Ronaldo has outscored Messi for club and country. That is why he won the Balon d'Or with RECORD margins. And that is why he is most likely winning another Balon d'Or. The only thing preventing him would be a Messi WC win, and now that Argentina has been eliminated, that won't be the case. Are you really going to argue that Messi's greatest rival, who has more records than him, has won more FIFA World Player Of The Years than him and has won the same number of Balon d'Ors and about to overtake Messi, shouldn't have the same introduction? Looking at your contribution history and edit-warring bans, its evident you're a a Messi fanboy. Please leave that for Facebook. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a place for opinions."

Thanks for letting me know. I actually didn't think it was you, I assumed the comment was left by Imperial HRH2. I will edit my response and address them. Although we don't necessarily agree, I am genuinely interested in hearing the argument for why the sentence should be the same for both players. O'Flannery (talk) 10:48, 1 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
Ah ok, I haven't bothered checking the edit history to work out who it was yet but I'll check now. Agreed, I think there's plenty to cover. Bit busy this afternoon but this evening I'll hopefully find time to come and give my two pennies' worth! Let's hope everyone can keep it focused on the discussion instead of resulting to ad hominem --Formulaonewiki (talk) 11:05, 1 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I have read full disscussion of this topic. In my opinion consenus still is not disscussed. In my opinion until Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo do not have award legend we should etablish that:

  • There are realibe sources that Lionel Messi is geatest of all time yes
  • There are realibe sources that Cristiano Ronaldo is greatest of all time no
  • There are realibe sources that Lionel Messi is one of greatest of all time yes
  • There are realibe sources that Cristiano Ronaldo is one of greatest of all time yes

In my opinion this conclusion should be disputed until discuss will be closed. Dawid2009 (talk) 21:34, 23 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Dawid2009 I pretty much agree with everything you have said here, however there are certain editors who would not agree, due to a fanaticism which makes reasonable discussion impossible. O'Flannery (talk) 23:21, 4 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Based off disscuss in article Cristiano Ronaldo I think that you are the most objective among all of users in this disscussion and I also think you have enaugh knowlage about thiis topic -;). Do you can see here? Excatly I think about last paragraph. Before 2018 world cup I have suggested that we should swapped [Socrates, Simonsen, Gascigone, Zanetti, Sarosi] -----> [Kocsis, Litmanen, Cubillas, Lineker, Rodriguez] (in this disscussion you can see my reosans). Thinking about it more we should not add Rodriguez (Falcao can be in case when we have futsal player) but after 2018 WC we centairly should add Didier Deschamps after World Cup. Thinking about it more it also seem to me that Sarosi could be stay instead Kocsis. Although Kocsis is more vital we also need time diversity in list of vital articles. It also seem to me that Zbigniew Boniek could be removed and we could add Jimmy Greaves, Duncan Edwards and Stern John. Stern John in my opinion could be add because we need geographical diverse and he is one of better players (mistakenly he sometimes is one of greatest of all time, see [1] and it is signifistance, although centairly this is not realibe source). In my opinion Bert Patenaude also should be added. In last week someone added to article player who scored first goal in history of world cup (22 wikidata and player from 30's it seem to me OK). In my opinion player from United States who won best title for USA, scored first hat trick in history of WC and scored first goal by head (I am polish and I know him until I am 10 years from curioities) should be also added.

Generally what do you think about these swappings: [Socrates, Simonsen, Gascigone, Zanetti, Sarossi? Boniek, Finney, N. Santos?/Didi? Dean?/Donovan?] -----> [Litmanen, Cubillas, Lineker, Deschamps, Greaves, Edwards, John, Patenaude, Kocsis?]. We generally need to 115 players on the list (with geographical diversive, time diversive, and more ephasis for English-language players). We also need to coordinate List of association football players considered the greatest of all time with vital list (Moreno is in the article about greatests ever but he is not in vital list currently). In my opinion you centairly have enaugh knowlage to disscuss about it. I agree that Ballon d'or is not significal award for best player, I also not agree with people who told in Talk:Cristiano Ronaldo that Pele is worse than Rrobin and with people who told that CR7 is better than Zidane(one person told=Messi and CR7 are better than Zidane and Ronaldinho) and Messi ;), even statistically. Cheers. Dawid2009 (talk) 21:34, 23 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

We also need to add long section with criticism to Ballon d'or because it is unbelivable that some onpeoplee (I read in talk:cristiano ronaldo): first argumenting that CR7 has more ballon'dr than Muller, and then tha:t players is 50's and 60's there were not physical such like currently, so source that Messi in various rankings is among Pele is wrong source. We need to remember Jimmy Johnstone (1,58 m, not athlete player) had best result in ballon d'r voting as 2nd place while Clarence Seedorf (most propably best strong-athlete football player in history) never has been among 5 best. These two arguments there were trivial and there were self-denial each other. A propos criticism of 2010, I remember that Cruyff in 2010 said: "Messi is the best in the world but Ballon'dr should have Iniesta or Xavi". I know soure based on Cruyff said Messi is the best in 2010 (mybe not very realibe: https://sites.google.com/view/messiorronaldo/quotes-about-messi) but currently I can not found source with opinion about xavi and Iniesta Dawid2009 (talk) 11:15, 24 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Dawid2009 HI, thanks for the comments. Unfortunately I am not sure exactly what you are asking from me. I agree with a lot of what you are saying, but as for swapping players (Socrates, Simonsen, Gascigone, Zanetti, Sarosi] -----> [Kocsis, Litmanen, Cubillas, Lineker, Rodriguez) I am not sure what this means exactly. Could you explain? O'Flannery (talk) 23:18, 4 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

It is related to disscussion at Wikipedia talk:Vital articles/Level/5#Some changes in Association football and this disscussion is related to Wikipedia:Vital articles/Level/5/People/Sports figures. What vital articles are, excatly is described here. Currently we have 111 football players as article at the level 4. (Socrates, Simonsen, Gascigone, Zanetti, Sarosi] -----> [Kocsis, Litmanen, Cubillas, Lineker, Rodriguez) was my first suggestion to swap some players (i sense remove fewer vital and add more vital, and also related to rules here) but thinking about it more (just based on Wikipedia talk:Vital articles) I give next suggestions. You can see here. Dawid2009 (talk) 18:47, 5 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
The new my suggestion is [ Javier Zanetti, Tom Finney, Carlos Alberto, Lucien Laurent, Nilton Santos, Ian Rush, Yaya Touré, Allan Simonsen ] ---swap for---> [ Teofilo Cubillas, Didier Deschamps, Didier Drogba, Denis Law, Gary Lineker, Gianni Rivera, Daniel Passarella Dawid2009 (talk) 18:51, 5 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
