A cup of coffee for you!
editHello, and welcome to Wikipedia.
How was the decision made to move the content from State University of New York Board of Trustees into State University of New York? You just made that new article with a list of trustees, then after a couple of weeks merged it here. I think it is a good idea to keep that content on its own page because lists of this sort are difficult to maintain, take up lots of space, and are not most readers' primary motivation for visiting the Wikipedia article. We do not have much precedent for this because just tracking the boards of most organizations is difficult, but for this school we do have some sources to cite. Thanks for checking out Wikipedia. Blue Rasberry (talk) 16:04, 3 June 2015 (UTC) |
Hi, thank you for contacting me.
There were two users that suggested the merger, you can see that here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:State_University_of_New_York
I understood that it was something that needed to be done. I apologize for this, I`m new to Wikipedia. Is there a way to cancel the merger? Nwerner1 (talk) 19:07, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
- There is no need to apologize - I should apologize to you. I have been on Wikipedia for a while and I do not know what to do in this case. I started a conversation with the other two on that talk page. I am unsure of what is best. I would have expected that you did the best thing by putting the content in its own article, but some things on Wikipedia get settled by looking at precedent in other cases and talking through the decision.
- You did everything correctly and did a fantastic job in sharing information and citing sources. Let's see what others say. Also, welcome to Wikipedia. I care about schools in New York also. Blue Rasberry (talk) 15:47, 4 June 2015 (UTC)
Thank you very much for your reply. I`ll keep an eye on that talk page to see what everyone decides. Nwerner1 (talk) 11:04, 8 June 2015 (UTC)

August 2015
editIt appears that you have been canvassing—leaving messages on a biased choice of users' talk pages to notify them of an ongoing community decision, debate, or vote. While friendly notices are allowed, they should be limited and nonpartisan in distribution and should reflect a neutral point of view. Please do not post notices which are indiscriminately cross-posted, which espouse a certain point of view or side of a debate, or which are selectively sent only to those who are believed to hold the same opinion as you. Remember to respect Wikipedia's principle of consensus-building by allowing decisions to reflect the prevailing opinion among the community at large. Thank you. Hi User:NeilN, I apologize, I was trying to let some of the users involved in the SUNY community about Belluck's page. I'll make sure that my messages are neutral. Thanks for the heads up. Nwerner1 (talk) 13:46, 7 August 2015 (UTC)
Joseph Belluck
editHi,
I have written several articles on notable lawyers -- but only on those whom I have read about in books. I have never heard about Joseph Belluck, so I guess I'm am not the right one to write about him.
Cheers from sunny Moscow! Lamro (talk) 14:45, 10 September 2015 (UTC)
