February 2010 edit

Hello Npdoty. You tagged a page for speedy deletion, but you did not notify the article's creator that it had been so tagged. There is strong consensus that the creators of articles tagged for speedy deletion should be warned and that the person placing the tag has that responsibility. All of the major speedy deletion templates contain a pre-formatted warning for this purpose—just copy and paste to the creator's talk page. Thank you. iBen 22:46, 20 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hmm... I don't believe I did tag the article for speedy deletion (or even a proposed non-controversial deletion), I just thought we should have a discussion (the fourth process described here: Wikipedia:Deletion_policy#Processes). I also did try to post a notification on your talk page as soon as I had finished filling out the templates, but you had already reverted my deletion discussion notice and updated my talk page before I was able to post the notification on your talk page. :) Anyway, sorry for the delay and I hope everything is in the right place now. Wrong template; sorry. Meant it to be an AfD template. — Preceding unsigned comment added by iBen (talkcontribs)

Google Buzz edit

Hey. I saw that you were active on the Google Buzz page, so would you mind having a look at this edit? Seems to me that it's inappropriate, but I'd rather not get into more of an edit war. Thanks! — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 12:55, 2 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for File:NAI-logo.jpeg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:NAI-logo.jpeg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:11, 11 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:NAI-logo.jpeg edit

Thanks for uploading File:NAI-logo.jpeg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 10:11, 11 March 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:11, 11 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Amherst College edit

I really appreciate you playing mediator at Talk:Amherst College! ElKevbo (talk) 19:49, 26 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the support, I appreciate it. Npdoty (talk) 21:15, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

FYI: I've filed a sockpuppet investigation for Agesworthuser‎, Proofallgames, and 218.186.9.11. I was suspicious but today Agesworthuser forgot that he or she was logged out when making some edits as 218.186.9.11; he or she not only edited what Agesworthuser had written earlier (not a big deal; may have just forgotten that he or she was logged out) but then he or she proved bad faith by then leaving a message purporting to be a different user in support of Agesworthuser.

I'm ok with people that disagree with me, even if they so vehemently. But this person is lying to us and trying to cheat the system. I'm very sorry that so much of your time has been wasted! :( ElKevbo (talk) 21:00, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

I appreciate your following up on that. Thanks, Npdoty (talk) 21:14, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Parental Rights Amendment to U.S. Constitution edit

Thanks for your comments of July 29. I didn't see them for a while, but I am now in the process of fixing those issues which you astutely pointed out. I have a colleague re-researching to give due credit to the opponents of the amendment, and will look to address your other concerns as well. Thank you for the heads-up! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Michael Ramey (talkcontribs) 20:11, 1 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Added Sept. 24, 2010: The areas of concern have been addressed. Please revisit our entry and let me know if you disagree that it is much better. I hope you can agree to remove the tag with these changes, but I would appreciate your further input if you cannot. Thank you! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Michael Ramey (talkcontribs) 18:35, 24 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

I've replied on the article talk page with some further suggestions. Thanks for the notification here. Npdoty (talk) 09:11, 25 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Added October 29, 2010: I apologize for removing your earlier tags. I failed to see your comments on the talk page (I'm embarrassed to say), else I would not have removed them yet. Given your continued concerns (and added comments), I would not have removed them. I appreciate your help toward improving the article, and welcome your continued involvement. I share your hope that your tags will attract other interested editors. Michael Ramey (talkcontribs) —Preceding undated comment added 17:15, 29 October 2010 (UTC).Reply
