DVDVideoSoft edit

Hi Noelle. Thank you for your message.

The article about DVDVideoSoft has been deleted repeatedly because it is a very short article that doesn't explain why DVDVideoSoft is important. By contrast, the article you mentioned about your competitor, SlySoft, is a longer article that makes some assertion that the company is important.

Before writing a new article about DVDVideoSoft, please read WP:COI, our guideline concerning potential conflicts of interest. If you believe you can write objectively about DVDVideoSoft, please write an article based on what reliable sources have written about the company. That will help keep the article objective and also demonstrate that the company satisfies Wikipedia's "notability" guidelines, the criteria that determine whether a company qualifies for an encyclopedia article.

Please leave a message for me if you have any questions. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 02:49, 18 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi Noelle. Could you provide me with a link to the new article, because I can't find it. Thanks. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 17:42, 20 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
Hi Noelle. I'm still having trouble finding the article. If you can find the article, please copy and paste the URL to my Talk page. Otherwise, do you know the name of the editor who submitted it? If I know that, it may help me find the article. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 21:37, 21 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of DVDVideoSoft edit

A tag has been placed on DVDVideoSoft requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. I have nominated DVDVideoSoft, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/DVDVideoSoft. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

License tagging for File:Freestudio.png edit

Thanks for uploading File:Freestudio.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 16:07, 21 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

  • Sorry to have left the image without the tag and thanks for pointing me to this issue. The tag has been added, please leave me your feedback if anything is wrong anywhere else.

File source problem with File:Freestudio.png edit

Thank you for uploading File:Freestudio.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 10:19, 26 January 2011 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fleet Command (talk) 10:19, 26 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

I am sorry for being a bit dumb here. I have reuploaded the image, adding the information about the owner and the description. I have also found the Licensing i was searching for. Please, check and contact me if you have any other comments on this logo. Thanks for your assistance. Noelle pozzi (talk) 12:57, 27 January 2011 (UTC) Noelle pozziReply

Freeware is not Free software edit

Hello, Noelle pozzi

Please take note that Freeware is not Free software. Freeware refers software distributed free of charge. Free software however, refers to software that can be freely acquired, studied (or reverse-engineered), modified and redistributed. For more information, see Gratis versus Libre.

DVDVideoSoft develops freeware, but not free software. Fleet Command (talk) 10:32, 26 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Several things that you should consider while editing Wikipedia edit

Hello, Noelle pozzi

When editing Wikipedia, please pay attention to the following:

  1. In the article body (Infobox not included), do not link to an article more than once.
  2. Use precise links. For example, instead of linking to DVD, link to DVD Video. Instead of linking to 3D, link to 3D computer graphics.
  3. Do not use external links (like this: [www.example.com example]) in the article body! Use footnotes (like this: <ref>[www.example.com example]</ref> instead.
  4. Never include images bigger than 300 pixels in width in infoboxes. (Not everyone reads the article on a big screen.)
  5. Never use _ (underscore) in wikilinks. Instead of [[Audio_Video_Interleave]], write [[Audio Video Interleave]].

This is great. Thank you, i will revise it in a moment. Noelle pozzi (talk) 21:23, 28 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
