Opera updates edit

Even though I totally agree, I think "immensely popular" is too editorial for Wikipedia articles; maybe "very popular" or even just "popular"and let the rankings reference speak for itself. — Jon (talk) 05:20, 2 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your message Jon, I think you are right Nivent2007 (talk) 13:46, 2 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
I don't agree. Operabase is not a serious source, and popularity of an opera seems not of sufficient interest. Perhaps discuss the matter on project opera. Quite generally: when you are reverted, you should never just bring the fact back, to avoid edit-warring. Instead, you should discuss on the article talk, per the recommendation WP:BRD. However, as we deal with many articles, better discuss one place. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:57, 2 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Edit to Cubanate edit

Can you explain this edit please? I don't see the link between the subjects, and the absence of an edit summary doesn't help. Chris Cunningham (user:thumperward) (talk) 21:37, 23 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, I made a mistake. Nivent2007 (talk) 09:35, 24 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

July 2023 edit

  You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy by inserting commentary or your personal analysis into an article, as you did at Shen Yun. Stop whitewashing Shen Yun, Falun Gong, The Epoch Times, etc. Binksternet (talk) 18:03, 1 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Stop trying to erase the negative aspects of Shen Yun, Falun Gong, Epoch Times, etc, while promoting as truth the frightened responses of media outlets faced with lawsuits from these people. Binksternet (talk) 19:05, 1 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
I think it seems like a threat Michael. I would just forgot what you wrote. I wish we can talk here with respect in the future. All the best and have a nice weekend Nivent2007 (talk) 19:14, 1 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Introduction to contentious topics edit

You have recently edited a page related to Falun Gong, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially-designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
