Well, I don't know if this user is ever going to resurface, but it would be a shame if the Old Kingdom characters draft page was lost completely. I think it should be moved to an actual article, then people will actually be able to see it and it can be fully completed. As it is, it will probably never be done, which is a real shame. I thought I'd ask you about this, as I think you know/knew Abhorsen327 pretty well. U-Mos 18:14, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, Abhorsen327 (my girlfriend) is on an indefinite wikibreak, although she may eventually resurface. I'd suggest that if we move it to the article namespace, we should find some appropriate cleanup templates to indicate the major work needed. I'll get back to you more in a bit, got to get to class right now. Nihiltres 18:32, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

RfA
editHi, I noticed you're interested in becoming an admin. After a brief review of your editcount (4041 at time of writing) and contributions, I would like to nominate you for RfA, as I think you're ready to receive the admin tools. Walton Need some help? 18:53, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
- That would be fine, although I must admit some nervousness as regards RfA. Thank you. Nihiltres(t.c.s) 19:20, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not surprised - my own RfA nearly gave me a nervous breakdown. Let me know when you're ready for me to write up a nomination - I'll do a more detailed review of your contributions in the meantime. Walton Need some help? 16:58, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
- Whenever you like is fine, just let me know - Although it's scary, it's the only way. :) Nihiltres(t.c.s) 18:05, 12 May 2007 (UTC) (cross-posted)

Comment from User:Zinedokeeleoooni

editSorry... I guess I sorta missed out on that one. A little out of the loop, If you will, with this page deletion problem, which by the way is to be solved tonight! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Stealthrabbit127 (talk • contribs) 23:53, 13 May 2007 (UTC).
empty page change, where to discuss?
editI noticed a recent change to the text displayed for a deleted or otherwise nonexistent page like this, adding inter-project search links. I'd like to suggest some minor formatting changes, but I have no idea of the title of the MediaWiki talk page (at least, I assume it's in the MediaWiki namespace) at which I would do this. My searches have turned up nothing. I would greatly appreciate any help. Nihiltres(t.c.s) 02:56, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
- You are looking for MediaWiki:Noarticletext. I found the page by checking recent changes in the MediaWiki namespace, you can also find it via Special:Allmessages by using your browser to find the text "If you can't find" etc.--Commander Keane 03:29, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
- I was the one who made that change. I took it from Wikinews as I found it a useful tool, especially with some people considering soft redirecting to other projects a good idea - which would mess with the whole red-blue link thing. If you have any suggestions, let me know. As long as they're format changes that do not conflict with the basic idea of adding the links, I'm sure we can come to an agreement. - Mgm|(talk) 09:07, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
- I found your comments. Personally, I think adding a blue border and giving it a bit of a color instead of just gray is a good idea. (Similar to the help desk header. You're right about the centring of images and links in that box, though, so if you can fix that please feel free to code it. Perhaps we can settle on an in-between color? - Mgm|(talk) 09:07, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
- The discussion's continued at MediaWiki talk:Noarticletext, and I made a mockup in my sandbox that would probably be very confusing to someone who didn't know what it was. It would probably be more helpful to comment there. User:Gurch also thinks that a standard grey would be a good idea. As for centering the content, you can try to get it to work in my sandbox, but beware: the box is encased in a Parserfunction to hide it for non-article namespace pages. That edit was pretty destructive, but I had to laugh... it was pretty funny.
Thank you again.

Hey
editHi. If you'll take a look at the string of comments I have given to other users, you will see that this is not my type of thing to do. I know it's not right, so why do it? I did not impersonate you, although someone using my name did. This, I must get to the bottom of. Besides, why would I impersonate someone I look up to, take suggestions from, and have nominated for adminship? Seriously, Nihiltres, I wouldn't do anything like that. Sorry for the waste of time, and the confusion I may have caused you. Please, Let's just move on. This is really, if you don't mind me saying so, a waste of time, better used for editing and reverting. Thank you for your input, and I will look forward to hearing from you in the future.

editI changed my password and have an Idea of who might have been using my account. I'll talk to him (I've had problems with him in real life). I suspect he also vandalized my userpage, but I don't know for sure. Thanks for your help, I'll make sure this never happens again.

Re:Garth Nix Novel
editOh, I see what you're saying. My only contention now is that it doesn't really seem necessary. It isn't too difficult to add the category manually to each article and it also makes the source of the category much easier to see (more than once I've tried to remove a category from an article but couldn't figure out where it was coming from). Axem Titanium 03:33, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
- I suppose it isn't quite necessary, but it's definitely convenient, since the template and the category should always be paired. If only we had StringFunctions enabled throughout Wikimedia projects, we wouldn't need the parameter then. Nihiltres(t.c.s) 03:47, 21 May 2007 (UTC) (cross-posted)
- Suit yourself. I don't care enough to pursue this. WP:DGAF, yo! Axem Titanium 03:51, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your comment about my wrong nomination. I put {{db-spam}} because of the "need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic" part of CSD#G11... something like {{WikiProject Biography}} but about a (now discontinued) product. Since my speedy nomination was controversial I am considering {{prod}}. Note that there are references, but they are unused in the article, and it is not clear how the references endorse the actual content. I'll put some comments on the article talk page. Rjgodoy 05:40, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
- {{prod}} sounds good, what you're saying makes sense. Thanks for addressing my concerns. Nihiltres(t.c.s) 05:46, 22 May 2007 (UTC) (cross-posted)
- I have removed speedy tag from GRASP (multimedia authoring software), replacing it with {{prod}}. Thanks for the advice. Rjgodoy 06:07, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
Stabbed that Nigga Deletion
editThat's the name of the series, what else was I supposed to put??!! Un-delete it! Sharrieff C.Sharrieff C. 22 May 2007
- I didn't delete that because the name was offensive - Wikipedia is not censored. I deleted it because it didn't seem to meet our notability requirements, and another editor tagged it as such as well. I suggest that you read Wikipedia:Your first article, this explains a lot. Reply, Stabbed that Nigga Deletion
editThe reason Shadowlynx deleted it was because it had some copyrighted stuff in it, we talked it over and it was put back, but no, you come strolling along and you delete it again. Why, I ask, I know why, because it has the word nigga in it, but it doesn't matter, because that is the name of the freakin' title! I demand you un-delete this minute! Spoiler tags
edit(I answered some other points on my talk page). There is consensus (at the RfC) that warnings should not be in place on medieval literature or fairytales, so I'm working on these now and leaving the films alone today. My view (that {{spoiler}} should be deleted) is certainly not going to be upheld, so I won't try to enforce that. Incidentally, if you think nothing should be done while the RfC is ongoing: how do you determine when it's over? There certainly hasn't been any really new idea at the RfC for a couple of days now. Please Block
editHello,
I would like to have Hargon10 blocked for multiple accounts of vandalism. I know this person in real life, I have watched him vandalize pages at school (i.e. World of Warcraft) and he has been a problem to me in the past. He recently deleted my entire talk page and released my real name at this edit and I also have suspected him of making that edit to my userpage [1]. Please block the account he has hacked so he doesn't do something dangerous like post my address or something. Thank you very very much.

Hey there! Thanks for your note on my talk page --
editHi Nihiltres!
First of all: yes, it is indeed me. Thanks for the heads-up on the page editing guidelines.
I've read them previously (and every now and then I reread them to stay on my toes). I'm aware of the dangers inherent in editing one's own page -- and I work very hard to keep such edits very dry and strictly factual ... usually just changes in date, ISBN info, URLs and so forth. But when I see a factual error, I do (sometimes) correct it: being careful to stay dry. (And sometimes I just cover my eyes and walk away.) :)
