A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Forward Email is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Forward Email until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. Potential conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Niftylettuce. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Forward Email, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.

Username policy

edit

  Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created Forward Email, and I noticed that your username, "Niftylettuce", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username, by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you.

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text

{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.

 Thank you. Glen 13:09, 8 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Response by Niftylettuce

I also had someone delete the page for Forward Email stating it was an unknown service. It's definitely not!

There is significant mention of this service publicly, here are just a few links:

  • Recommended answer under Google Sites Help for "How do I create individual email addresses with my website domain"[1]
  • Most upvoted answer on Indie Hackers "Looking for custom email addresses for free?" forum post[2]
  • Hacker News comments discussing this is a great alternative to Mailgun (after Mailgun lowered free-tier API from 10k to 625 emails per month)[3]
  • Most upvoted answer under StackExchange ProWebmasters Q&A for "How to forward emails to my custom domain to my Gmail account?"[4]
  • YouTube video by Hack Upstate on how to set up a website using Forward Email service[5]
  • Discussion on Forward Email service at LowEndTalk forums[6]
  • Multiple high-traffic blogs with posts about this service, such as Woorkup[7], DuoCircle[8], DevAnswers.co[9], Roy Duineveld[10], Boris Mann[11], Seonwoo Lee[12], Tucker's Site[13]
  • Recommended provider by ClubBuzz[14]

Further information to provide that this is a legitimate service and company:

  • Niftylettuce, LLC is a registered Delaware corporation in the United States under File Number 5791112
  • The service is used on over 10,000 domain names[15]

I will add the first bullet point list above as "Reception" section to the article.

I'm also a co-founder[16] of OurHarvest if that helps my credibility in the team community and my GitHub is @niftylettuce.

I've received your email. Sorry I can't help you've been blocked for abusing multiple accounts. Glen 14:23, 8 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
Sorry there's nothing I can do. Wikipedia:Checkusers can see much more info than I. You're welcome to pick it up with them but it's out of my hands. Glen 14:30, 8 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
