"Further reading" on L. aurantiacum
editHi- I saw your edit on Leccinum_aurantiacum#Further_reading. I'm not sure of the exact WP policy about referencing, but I think we're meant to keep a references section to cite sources that we've used in writing the article. I used that Audubon book as my primary source, so I think we might want to separate it back out from your new section. What do you think? -Eric (talk) 18:19, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
External links
editPlease do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did in Amanita muscaria. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. de Bivort 20:28, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did in Basidiocarp. It is considered spamming, and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising. Thanks. de Bivort 06:42, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
Please stop. If you continue spamming Wikipedia, as you did to Edible mushrooms, you will be blocked from editing. de Bivort 04:07, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Small error on your web site, external links
editHi, I saw that you added http://americanmushrooms.com/psilocybin.htm to the Psilocybe links section. Its a good article but I noticed a small error.
At the end it says "(and for that matter LSD, which is illegally synthesized but is a naturally occurring compound found in a certain fungus)". LSD does not occur in nature. Ergot contains http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ergotamine, a toxic precursor to LSD.
Also, all the external links you are adding are a little borderline. Most of your changes are really good, lots of great new text. But tons of links back to americanmushrooms. If everyone did that, the articles would be really full of links.
I removed the ones that seemed gratuitous from about 30 articles last week - the "further reading" section is a blatant plug, come on! I left the ones that seemed to contribute to the article, but others might not be so charitable.
Thats all.
