Welcome! edit

Hello, Missinternationalofficial, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Talk:Miss International 2022, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! The Wikipedia entry about Miss International 2022 is composed of many erroneous information. In particular, about the names of delegates. They are very misleading. Missinternationalofficial (talk) 01:21, 28 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

We just want our Miss International 2024 page to be published. Our pageant is the only one that is not yet published in the year 2024. Missinternationalofficial (talk) 08:54, 25 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

We have this article https://entertainment.inquirer.net/537131/angelica-lopezs-miss-international-bid-to-take-place-in-japan-in-november

Please follow the instructions below, placing your request at the bottom of this page. Any article about your pageant is not "yours", it would belong to Wikipedia. 331dot (talk) 09:03, 25 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

March 2024 edit

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because your account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  • Provide a new username.

To do this, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. 331dot (talk) 08:34, 25 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

We are just trying to open a Miss International 2024 page. What is wrong with that? All the other major pageants already have a 2024 page, such as Miss Universe and Miss World. Our organization needs this page to be published. Missinternationalofficial (talk) 09:25, 25 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

No, as per below. Additionally, shared accounts ("We") are not permitted here. Yamla (talk) 11:38, 25 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

You are deeply confused. Pageants do not "have pages" here. Wikipedia has articles about topics which include pageants. These are typically written by independent editors wholly unconnected with the subject, no different than if The New York Times chose to write about your pageant. Any article about your pageant would not be yours to exclusively control. See WP:OWN. Wikipedia is not concerned with the needs of your organization or how the presence or lack of presence of an article helps your organization. Someone else will review your request, but you won't be unblocked to, at this time, edit about your pageant. Please read WP:COI and WP:PAID. 331dot (talk) 09:32, 25 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

THEN WHAT'S THE LOGIC BEHIND BLOCKING THIS ACCOUNT? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Missinternationalofficial (talkcontribs)
Please do not use all caps. You are blocked for the reasons stated. You will need to show that you understand these reasons in order to be unblocked. As I said, you won't be unblocked to edit about your pageant at this time. If you want to edit about other topics, please tell what- this will help you to learn what exactly we do here and how. 331dot (talk) 09:57, 25 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
  • I think Missinternationalofficial doesn't understand what Wikipedia is, which is a common mistake. Wikipedia is not a social networking site, like facebook, or a directory, or Linkedin, it is an encyclopedia. Think Britannica or the old World Book encyclopedias, but online. Volunteers do contribute the articles and edits, but we have policies and guidelines about what is and isn't allowed. There is no automatic guarantee of listing. In fact, most articles don't make it and get deleted if they don't meet our policy on WP:Notability, if they can't be WP:Verified by WP:Reliable sources. Just because a similar organization has an article, that is not any guarantee yours will. In fact, saying "what about this other company" is specially listed as a non-argument in discussions here and gets zero credibility. Each article must independently stand on it's own, weighed against those policies I listed. And we do not allow spam, nor promotional accounts, nor accounts that are shared by two or more people. Our goal isn't to make it easy for you to share your advertising, it is to build a world class encyclopedia, with referenced facts, about notable topics. If your only goal is to advertise your company, then your goals are in opposition to the broader goals of Wikipedia. Don't worry, if your organization is notable (by Wikipedia's policy definition), someone else will write an article on it, which is best anyway. (see WP:COI).
